Shack Staple! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have two of these supplies in the shack. Truly a reliable fixture in so many shacks I've seen and mine is no exception. In my opinion, the switchers that have come from offshore had serious noise problems in their early days. This sent the desirability (and price) of the RS series Astrons upward, and rightly so. Now however, great engineering and FCC part 15 requirements have much improved the switchers. Even so, for reliability and maintainability, the RS-35M can't be beat. Both of mine are roughly 20 years young and neither has ever had a problem.

Robust! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I forgot how many years I have owned this unit. I bought it new maybe 15 yrs. ago. I have only replaced the voltage reg cap due to storms in the area. But other than this, it is a rock.

Like the Energizer Bunny... Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Mine is 20 years old and still going; runs 24/7/365 and never misses a beat. It currently powers a Yaesu FT-8900R, an ICOM IC-7000, and a couple of other low-current devices.

Great PS Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I purchased this Astron RS35M Power Supply with a Kenwood TS 2000 back in 2001. Since then I power 3 HF radios ,scanner and VHF/UHF rig plus other equipment and float a backup battery in parallel all with this PS. It runs 24/7 with no problem. Built like a tank and runs like one. If I ever need a new PS it will be an Astron. My meters are not lighted but with the white meters it is easy to read with moderate light.

Excellent supply Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
These things are built like battleships. I just picked up my first one, but our club has one that has served well for years. What's nice is Astron includes the schematic with some voltage charts, should you ever need to repair it. I think the lighted meters must have been a more recent addition, but those are nice. Having the detachable line cord with the computer-style connector is a nice improvement over the older ones too. Good regulation, and it runs cool.

Workhorse Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I own two of these power supplies. The first worked on its own for 20 years with out a problem. I switched it out with one I had bought from an SK Estate only to give it a rest. Now I have two fine supplies if I ever need to have one repaired. I am on HF at least ten hours a week.

24 years, before it needed anything. Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I got my Astron used, from an old employer, in the late 80's. They had bought it new, in 1984, and it powered their UHF dispatch radio, for close to 6 years, before it was replaced, and I bought it at auction.
It has powered so many different radios since then, that I couldn't begin to count what all I powered with it. Last month it died. I have a friend, who is a power supply specialist, and looked at it, and told me two of the transistors, and one SCR were fried. I was almost ready to scrap it, when I talked to another friend, who suggested taking it to Astron, who are fairly local to me. So, I took it to them, and in about 1.5 hours, they COMPLETELY rebuilt it. 4 new transistors, 3 new SCR's new PC board, new switch, new other parts I don't even remember, later, it cost me $40. That's it!!! $40!!!, and it's again up and running, LIKE NEW. My kind of business. I totally recommend Astron, and am perfectly happy with this RS-35M. I also own 3 other Astrons, and will never buy another brand, likely will never have to buy another power supply. I now have 2 RM-35M's (run in parallel, with battery backup), 1-RS-35M, and one RS-70M. If that doesn't power it up, nothing will.

Reliability you can count on Time Owned: more than 12 months.
These power supplies are built like tanks. I've had mine for many years and it quietly does its job delivering reliable regulated dc power. The power supply is rock solid and dependable. The metering functions are a real plus. If something ever happens to this supply, I will either repair it or buy another brand new Astron. In my book, for the money, it's the finest power supply out there.
