good Time Owned: more than 12 months.
They work well. Sometimes a lightning spike will trip the crowbar. Happens at repeater sites once in a while. Parts are easy to get. If you get one that buzzes, though, there isn't much to be done about it. I think they get some line regulation help from the transformer core design. Wedging a piece of wood between the top of the transformer and the case sometimes helps, tightning the lamination bolst does not seeem to help at all.

Workhorse Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I purchased my first Astron RS35M in April 1993 and it has been running 24/7 since then. It's never been turned off. I use it to power my HF rigs. I have another Astron RS35M that I purchased at an estate sale which powers all my schack 12v accessories.

lamination buzz from day one Time Owned: more than 12 months.
This has been an audibly noisy power supply since the day it arrived here, brand new in the box from HRO. It sounds like the power transformer laminations vibrating @ 60 Hz. Otherwise it has been perfect, as is a RS-50M that is 2 1/2 years older than the RS-35M. I probably should have returned the RS-35M 6 years ago when it was new so now I'm s.o.l. I have not tried to tighten the stack of laminations to see if I can't quiet this thing down, as it is somewhat annoying that it does this. One would think these units would be powered-up at Astron before they are boxed, and set aside for rework if such a condition existed. Because of this, I personally would not ever purchase another RS-35M but I would opt for another RS-50M as I still believe Astron is the way to go in 13.8 V.d.c. linear regulated power supplies.

SOLID LIKE A ROCK Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I've has two RS2o's and two RS35's for twenty years or more. Still ticking along. No issues and I am comfortable knowing that IF something foes - the units are self-limiting / self-protecting. Would definitely buy four more today!

It's a Rock Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I've had mine since the mid 80's. Got it used at a hamfest. It stays on all the time and I've never had a bit of trouble with it. Using it to power the IC-718, the VHF/UHF dual bander, the stand alone 2 meter rig and all the 12vdc shack accesories. It runs into my PowerGate to run the shack and keep the backup batteries charged. I have to get close and listen very carefully to hear any hum. Not enough to worry about. If I ever need to replace it I will get another Astron. It's one of those things you just turn on and forget it's there.

Keeps on going Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Great supply! I wouldn't have any other supply for powering my 100W HF rigs and a few other items including a 2 meter rig, and LED lighting around my shack.

I had to do a simple replacement of the large filter cap (available from Digikey), but other than that, it's been trouble-free for about 16 years. The supply has been on more than it's been off during that time frame.

I can't say enough good things about this supply, it's based on the LM-723 regulator chip, which is pretty much the industry standard for higher current linear supplies.

Going on 13 years now - no problems! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I've been using my RS-35M for about 13 years now, switching it on and off at least every other day. Turning it on and off thousands of times all these years doesn't seem to be an issue. It powers ALL my rigs, small and large. I have not had one problem or issue with it. Mega high praises to Astron for manufacturing a 'bulletproof' and ultra reliable power supply!

+15 years of reliable service Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have been using an Astron RS35M for well over 15 years. It has been a solid, reliable performer for me.

Just plain solid Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have 4 of these bad boys in service. 2 run my radios, one runs a repeater and the 4th one is used as a bench supply. All are over 15 years old, not one failure. Solid as a rock.

Ultra-Reliable Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I bought mine used around the same time that I bought a pre-WARC Yaesu FT-107 around '79-'80. This is an early model that only has one meter with a switch. It's one of the very few pieces of equipment that there's never been a reason to replace or upgrade and has been my station supply ever since. In nearly 30 years of continuous, daily operation, I've never had a single problem with this supply. I ran it hard for years on RTTY in the early 80's without so much as a hiccup. Astron has a very dependable product in their linear supplies.
