Top Notch Operation Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I've used Kenwood Service East 3 times over the past 13 years. Always had a rapid turnaround. Twice under warranty, and one no-charge "extended" warranty replacment of a worn keypad on an HT. I've also had the opportunity to chat directly with knowledgeable techs there regarding Kenwood product questions and found them to be very open and knowledgeable.

Excellent Service Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I broke the antenna terminal off my TH6FA HT. I called my dealer, R&LM electronics, and they referred me to Kenwood East. I looked them up on the web and E-Ham, and called them. Sent my HT in via UPS, anda celled them once--they knew exactly where my radio was, and emailed me the estimate before starting. I had my HT back within 2 weeks from my door to door.

I highly recommend them!

Great Service! Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
My TS-2000 lost all TX on 70cm, 6M and HF all of a sudden. I called Kenwood West to see how long the turn around time would be to get this fixed under warrenty. They told me a min of 6 weeks in the shop. I called Kenwood East and asked the same question and got the reply that it would be out within 5 days. I shipped it out via UPS and it arrived in VA on a Thursday afternoon and the next day (friday) I received and email that my radio was shipped back out to me on Friday afternoon. My rig works great! I think it runs better than it did before and I would have given the radio a 5/5 anyway! They also added extra packaging material around the radio to protect it even more. Thanks!

TS 830: No longer supported: WATCH OUT, LADIES AND GENTS! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I sent in my 830 for iP which went infinite and popped the fuse. I sent it in UPS and it came back UPS unrepaired. Why? Because the two HV caps were "unavailable since Kenwood is not repairing the 830 anymore." Huh?! They why did they not say "don't send it, we won't fix it," when I called? Simple. They wanted my measly $35 knowing full well that they would not touch it. Unbelievable. FOR GOD'S SAKE, CHECK OUT WHETHER OR NOT THEY WILL EVEN LOOK AT YOUR RIG BEFORE YOU SEND IT. DON'T GET SNOWED AS I DID!

These guys are amazing! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
This is the second time i have used Kenwood East. They repaired my "Ebay Kenwood" 830s up to specs and did not charge an "arm and a leg". This time, i sent in my 850sat for service and the turnaround time was one day again! that is amazing!! The price was perfect as was the service!

They will take good care of your radio! Highly recommend their work!!

Fast, efficient Time Owned: more than 12 months.
When my TS2000 lost its preamp, I boxed it up and sent it to Virginia Beach. I was very pleased when it returned home exactly one week later, with the new fets installed, and the latest firmware upgraded. Now that's quick service!

Nothing done Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Based on the great reviews here, I sent my non-TX TS-600s in for repair last August. Imagine my surprise when the rig returned almost immediately!

Enclosed with the carton was the invoice ($60) plus a tech description of the problem "Unit has multiple problems, bad PLL board, and PS issues. Parts needed for repair no longer available."

I'm still scratching my head over this. Transistors and resistors aren't available? Apparently unless it's a straight Board swap, the Service Center doesn't service the out-of-warranty product.

Well Done! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have a Kenwood TH-F6A radio that I sent in. I was foolish enough to put my radio on my bed after an event, forgot it was there, and proceeded to sit on it. Long story short, the SMA connector on the radio broke off. I sent the radio in to Kenwood Service East in Virginia on 03/10/05. I received confirmation of receipt on 03/14/05. I received the radio back on 03/16/05. This means that the radio was repaired, tested and shipped on the same day! The radio works great and the connector was replaced in a very professional manner. I'm quite impressed with their work and turn-around time.

I have a TS-440 in need of serious repair. Although I've only used their service once, I'm confident that I will experience the same professional service when I get up enough money to send it in.

Suggestion... If you have a broken Kenwood rig, use the Kenwood Service East team. You won't be disappointed!

Great Sevice, Very Fast Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I also have to say I have experienced top notch service from the good folks at Kenwood Service Center East. I've had the occassion to use Kenwood warranty services 3 times now (different radio's though), and each time the work performed has been great. I live in Florida, and the total time from the day I shipped the radio to them until it was returned to my door was only one week for all three repairs! This is a heck of an average, and demonstrates the right way to do business. I realize everyone may not have the same results but so far the service reviews here have indicated Kenwood Service Center East is doing a lot of things right. I don't know about Icom or Alinco, but Yaesu could definitely learn some things from these folks, as my experiences with Yaesu have been way less favorable.

Keep up the good work gentlemen (and ladies, if applicable!). I hope to not have to use your services, but if I do I know you'll deliver terrific service with great haste!

SUPER SERVICE Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Mailed my Kenwood TS-50 HF rig to Steve and the group after it lost TX capability. I got an Email stating that it would be approximately $200.00 to repair the rig. I told them to go ahead and repair it. The very next day I recieved the radio via U.P.S. and figured they sent it back unrepaired.

Not only was it repaired but the total was $89.00 parts and labor!!

The TS-50 is back in the mobile and working grea!
