Easy to operate, good value Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have been very happy with my Acom 1000. It is easy to operate. The smart tuning indicators make tuning a fast operation. It tolerates a *lot* of operator errors with no harm done to the equipment. It also works with an 3:1 SWR mismatch easily, and with less than full power output even with 4:1. If you don't need an automatic amplifier, this one gives you excellent value and quality for your money.

Superb product and service from Acom Time Owned: more than 12 months.
As others have commented, this is a superb amplifier. I've been using it with an Electraft K3 over the past 3 years and it performs flawlessly.

I had some very minor paint chips on mine caused by the original courier. I decided to retouch them so I contacted the UK dealer I bought it from for some paint. He just said he couldn't help; clearly, he really appreciated my business! After one email to Acom I had a reply within a few hours saying that they would send powder paint that I just mix with a solvent. 5 days later a small bag of paint arrived from Bulgaria - really oustanding service.

Excellent Amp Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Nicely built amp. Fan and T/R relay noise level is VERY VERY low. I enjoy using it with my IC-7600 in QSK mode. Output to 1200w with 60w drive.

Bought mine from Jay and Bob, at Array Solutions; always nice to deal with.

My best amplifier Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I had a Yaesu FL-2100, Dentron 1000B, TL-922, and Acom 1000 is the best, very easy to use, a good legal power out 6 meter you 160 meters in the same box.
The security is maximum for a mistake.
With the display you have all the parameters.
Accept SWR order of 3:1
Very fast to tuner, and the tubes ceramics very hards and inexpensive.

Best regards

Superb! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Moving up from the Al-572 to the Acom 1000 really made me feel old! The Acom 1000 is a joy to operate and tune. I'm still a rookie with this amp but the TRI load/Tune microprocessor does a superb job of matching the load to the tube. It loafs at 950 watts. These new manual tune amps may not be the top of the line with all these auto-bandswitching 1kw+ but is is forgiving and rugged which is exactly what I needed. The folks at Array Solutions are first class in customer support as well. I will write another after 3 or 4 months but today it is tops.

A Remarkable Piece Of Hardware Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I bought the Acom 1000 as add-on amplification for my Elecraft K3. Although it is a fully manual tune amp, it can be tuned up easily in less than 30 seconds after a band change once you get the hang of it so not really a problem, even for contesters. It is a very quiet running amp compared to other amps I've used in the past. I have noticed, however, that QSK operation is not quite as noise-free as I would have liked. The QSK relay seems like it is increasing in mechanical noise with more and more use. I'll definitely be keeping an ear on that. I love the fault protection that the amp has, I've managed to trip the protection circuit a couple of times due to antenna non-resonance issues. When the amp is used with antennas that have an SWR range of 3:1 or less, it's a no-brainer. I use a Palstar AT2K tuner for the antennas that need the extra "help" and although I can match them to an acceptable SWR, the tuner is being asked to absorb too much of the mismatch so I'm not very surprised that I've fault-tripped the amp on occasion. This is not an inexpensive amp but I think when you consider the actual "bang for the buck" that you get, it's a tough deal to beat. The only reason I'm not giving it a "5" right now is because of the QSK relay noise - we'll see if it gets worse with additional use. Perhaps this is a known issue that I'm simply not aware of?

Praise, No Complaints Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have two 1000's and love them both. But something happened to one of them and for some reason I couldn't get any output on 6M. It worked fine on all the other bands. I sent an e-mail to Acom, they replied that with such an unusual problem I should have it serviced. So I drove it to their facility, and got immediate attention. Their service tech tested it right in front of me using the same transceiver and it worked flawlessly. I was flummoxed (old-fashioned word meaning "stupefied")! So I took it home and very carefully went through my exciter's 6M settings and replaced the coax connecting them both. The 1000 worked fine for me, too!
From that, I learned that if I have a problem, Acom won't brush me off, they'll be sensitive to me, their customer, and I'll get satisfaction. I also learned not to panic when something unexpected happens!
