AS GOOD AS VERY1 SAYS Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I like the possibility to work QRO in 30 and 6 m, wich I could not do in my previous AL, as well the silence when on.
This AL has allowed me to work some vy interesting DX in 30 m (BS7H, N8S) wich were my goals for this year. I could not work 3Y0X, during 10 hours of calling with 100 w, but if I had then the ACOM 1000 I am sure to get it.
The main features has already been said, and all are OK.
For me, there is room to improve the manual,
wich is not user friendy, and takes some time to master the unit.
Perhaps the manual is too simple because the AL is very, very simple to use, for this reason I think a new rewriting should be done.

Best Amp I ever owned! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
After reading all of the previous reviews, it seems there isn't much more I can say except to reiterate all the positive comments made by others. I wish there was a rating higher than 5 out of 5 that I could give it! I got my ACOM-1000 from the US distributor, and dealt with Will. He was fantastic. Very helpful and knowledgeable.

I've had a number of amplifiers over the years (Dentron, TenTec, Ameritron, etc.) and beyond a doubt this amp is the best I ever laid my hands on. I suppose the only better amp on the market is the ACOM-2000! This one exceeded my expectations, with 1.1 KW or better on all bands with only 50-60 watts drive. It is super quiet as most other reviewers have said. There is nothing I would change. You get what you pay for, and with the ACOM-1000, it is worth every cent. If you are looking for a HF amplifier that is reliable, has a rugged tube, multiple fault protection features and is easy to use, you can't go wrong with ACOM.

Excellent Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have owned the Acom 1000 for just over 12 months after buying it new from the UK distributor Vine Antenna Products.

I collected it and tested it on site at Vine’s business premises prior to parting with my pennies. It is a very impressive product, after the 180 second warm up time, it is simply a case of selecting the chosen operating band and adjusting the tune and load knobs whilst following the graphical LCD display which literally ‘points’ you for optimum tune. The LCD provides a load of diagnostic information such as SWR, actual and reflected power, voltage & current and exhaust temperatures etc. The Acom 1000 has the lowest /best IMD for any tested amp (per ARRL tests).

When Ron at Vine was demonstrating it to me, he connected the amp to an oil filled dummy load with a short patch lead. With a 1000 watts output from the amp into the dummy load, Ron pulled the lead out. The amp immediately went into fault protection mode – and was completely unaffected by the experience.... to me that is amazing.

The main features I like about this product are 1) it is almost indestructible – having numerous fault protection features such as automatic cut off if the load ‘dies’ or if the SWR suddenly goes mad etc, and 2) it puts out a very clean signal in comparison to other amps, 3) it has the ability for not only HF but also 6M, 4) operationally it is quieter than my pc. Hopefully I will not have to make use of the 2 year back to base warranty, but I am reassured that if that ever was to be the case, Ron at Vine is someone who can be relied upon – his service before and after the sale has been exemplary.

I have used the amp in all bands and it has performed flawlessly when I have chosen to use it. I bought the amp as I live in a QTH where there is only the provision for limited antennas, having extra power to compensate provides the balance. This amp allows me to run low power – usually 5 watts out of my HF radio giving approx 100 watts out of the amp. And because of the UK 400 watt regulation it means I can run the amp at walking speed rather than running flat out. Tests into a dummy load show that 50 watts in gives approx 1000 watts out!

Having the amp has sometimes makes the difference between being heard or not, life is too short for QRP!!

The Rolls Time Owned: more than 12 months.
It's now 3 years i buy it in second hand. I have never had 1 problem with the Acom 1000. Even the lamp is the original.
Filtering is perfect, no TVI, no perturbation. Is pure silence. I use it between 20 and 10m, TS 2000 on 50 watts and output is easily 1200 watts.
Simply perfect.
1 bad thing, like a Rolls... the price :-)
Enjoy of it. 73's Xavier ON4XA

Exceptionally well designed Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Due to an unfortunate set of circumstances for the previous owner, I was able to replace my Drake L-4B with an Acom 1000. I have used this amplifier on 160 through 10 meters, and it is very easy and quick to tune. The fault circuitry seems to work for the times I was not careful while changing bands. It gave me messages about overdriving or high output SWR and put the amplifier in standby mode.

I hate equipment with noisy fans, and the fan in the 1000 is very quiet indeed. In addition, the vacuum relay is very quiet, and I do not get the bothersome relay clicks while operating VOX on SSB, which I had when using the L-4B.

For some reason my Drake L-4B gave me problems with RF feedback into my Orion I, but when I switched to the Acom amp this type of problem disappeared.

The dimensions and weight of the Acom 1000 are very reasonable. I had been contemplating the purchase of a QRO Technologies HF-2500DX full legal limit amplifier, but I discarded that idea when I considered the dimensions and weight of the HF-2500DX. I did not want to be rushed to the hospital for hernia repair which might have been necessitated by the act of trying to lift a 90 pound amplifier onto a shelf on top of my desk!

Superb Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Had this amplifier just a little over a year now and it has been through several contests. This is a beautfil amp that tunes easily and fast. Protects itself well and has been very reliable. It is very quiet and performs better than advertised. Dealing with the folks at ACOM is a pleasure!

Superb build quality Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
For the UK power limit of 400 Watts, there isn't a better amplifier especially as it covers 160m to 6m with less harmonics on 6m than some single band amplifiers.

I especially like the tuning aid, the foolproof automatic input attenuator to protect the valve if you mess the tuning up, the low noise levels, the high duty cycle rating and the ability to run it from less than ideal mains when portable with a generator. The reasonable weight helps too, both for moving it around the shack and taking it portable.

I bought mine second hand and had to get the front panel replaced. The UK importer (Vine Antennas) are really good to deal with and very prompt at returning the amplifier.

On top of all the other features, it looks like a very expensive HiFi amplier. Under the covers the build quality is second to none. Some amplifiers have a home made look and feel, not this one!

Solid! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
First extensive use of the amp was 9 hours of cw contesting. Amps is a breeze to tune and forgiving. The amp is quiet. Puts out 1000 watts.

Having 6m is a huge bonus.
