Incredible Performance Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Incredible Performance is all I can say. I recently purchase this antenna used for $75.00. It was simply missing two small elements and a boom to mast clamp. If you know this antenna you know that I still got an amazing deal. I was talking to a DL station in Germany today who has been looking for one and the cheapest he has found so far was about $400 Euros which is about $600.00 (US).

Anyhow, I previously had a TH3MK4 by Hy-Gain which worked nicely. I had that up for about a year now and I have been quite happy with the performance considering it was a three element. I have since replaced it with the TH6 and what a difference. I am doing s-9++ all over the place and I hear a lot more than I used too hear.

I have the antenna about 10 ft off my roof and 30ft off the ground. I have a 50ft tower that is being raised up to 70' and the antenna will then go on the tower but so far I am certainly pleased with the performance and durability of this 10 year old antenna. I was quite happy with the condition of the antenna. I cant belive how durable this antenna was considering how long it was in the air and now out of service.

There obviously has something to do with not only the care the previous owner took with the antenna but also the craftsmanship used by Hy-Gain. I was thinking of stacking the TH-6 over the TH11DX or TH7DX. I will submit a follow up report soon after it is mounted on the tower. If you happen to come across one like I did buy It.

better than i thought to be Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I bought this antenna about 3 years ago, used bij another ham for more than 15 years, he replaced this antenna by an hy-gain th-11dx to have more bands available. It took me some time to clean it up, and i had to replace some part, specialy bolds, I also replaced the clamps with stainles steel types. Now the antenna is sitting at 85 feet, being a great performer, it breaks through in pile-ups running only 200 watts. I had an klm34xa before, I can,t see to much of an difference exept for band-with and a slight better fb on 20 m for the klm.
There are a few th6dxx for sell here 150,- Euro thats a bargain for a great antenna that keeps up with the new generations and + 1000,- Euro antennas

Restored Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I purchased replacement parts from Hygain and proceeded to clean it up. How to clean the traps of little critters ? BRAIN FART- I crushed a couple of denture cleaning tablets and poured the powder into the holes on traps-taped all the holes except a couple to pour hot water into-then taped these -shook well and left over night.
WOW spotless.Cleaned rest with soap pad for scrubbing pots. Looks brand new now.Great antenna!

Fantastic Antenna Time Owned: more than 12 months.
It seems that will last forever, besides that, great results on the bands, several contests such cqww-wpx and others were won using this antenna on 10/15 and 20 mts.

superb performance Time Owned: more than 12 months.
my hygain th6-dxx was FREE off a old G3 station who had packed up,the beam had been lying in a hedgerow on his farm for some years so i took it home and started the clean up process,i took all the traps apart and cleaned everything, now i use my th6 (portable)up in the hills, the swr is fantastic across the bands and the rejection on the back and side of this beam is beyond belief and just fantastic, the th6-dxx is a 6 element triband beam and covers 10,15,20 meters, 4 elements on 10m and 3 elements on 15,20m . the boom length is 24ft and the build quality is fantastic, pile ups are so easy with the th6-dxx and i have mine on a 30 meter mobile versa tower at 1200ft asl, my old th6 is probably 20-25 years old and no doubt seen some rough weather in its life but it is still up there and still doing the buisness like the day it was new.

RELIABLE Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have this beam in use since 1987. I bought it second hand, and replaced the hardware with stainless steel nuts/bolts/.... . Now this beam is still in the air at 24m hieght it never failed ever since.
This antenna survided several 1 severe storms @ 150 km/h windvelocity, every year it s survives moderate several storms at 110 km/h to 130 km/h.
It s a great penetrator especially on 15 and 20 m bands.
I am participating regulary in contests as a low power station and the th6dxx is playing the game very nicely.

This beam merits a 5+ because of the reliabilty.

A durable classic Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I just refurbished a 29 year old TH6 and installed it at 87 feet. I cut it for CW and it will cover the low end of the phone bands also. This antenna is very durable and performs as well as any tribander on a 24 foot boom. Buy one used for $100 then spend $75 for new plastic and stainless steel and rivet the elements vs using hose clamps. You'll have a great performer for 20+ years.
