Simply the BEST Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Fast, efficient, quick turn-around and reasonable repair fee. Scott repaired my radio quickly and in addition, he installed the correct cabinet screws for the radio. Very pleased with his service and will use again in the future if his services are needed.

You can't do better than MTS. Time Owned: N.A.
I recently sent both an Icom IC-765 and an IC-207H to Scott for repair after several emails back and forth trying to locate the problems.

When UPS returned them, the IC-765 looked so good Scott must have polished it. It looks so good I thought for a minute he painted it!

Besides repairing the transmitter, Scott fixed the loose rubber ring on the tuning knob (which had been driving me nuts!), replaced a lamp in the meter and replaced a broken nylon latch on the hatch cover. The radio looks and works like new again.

The IC-207H had a cracked land in the VHF power module. It, too, works like new.

This is the second time Scott has repaired ham gear for me (I reviewed MTS in December, 20003. I'm even more pleased this time.

Scott's hourly rates are VERY reasonable, and since he really knows what he's doing it doesn't take him long to fix things. You get your money's worth - and more - from MTS. It is a pleasure to deal with someone of Scott's integrity. He cares about his customers.

Based on reviews here on eHam, I emailed Scott and asked him about prices to repair a faulty internal antenna tuner on my Icom IC-765. Scott responded within an hour, with shop prices. He told me when he gets an IC-765, he often needs to replace some faulty caps and he'd check them when he got the radio. I sent it to him. He replaced a faulty FET in the tuner, some caps in the PLL and VCO units and aligned the transceiver. He also tried, at my suggestion, a modification of the full-breakin system that was supposed to enhance its operation at higher code speeds. Scott felt the mod resulted in chirpy cw at slower speeds, and he took it back out. He kept me posted during this time, finished the work in a week, and sent the radio back to me without a scratch. He charged less than the local radio store would have charged just to give an estimate, and the radio works GREAT again. I would not hesitate to send him any work. He is honest, competent and responsive. I feel better knowing he's available if I ever need him again!

Great Service, Period! Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I'm going to keep this short... Scott is not only a very good technician he is also a great guy! Honest in is work and always answers your emails.

None Better! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Since my eyesight failed, working with SMD's has become impossible. Scott keeps my 746Pro in tip-top shape, doing the mods on the TX and display backlighting I no longer can perform. Excellent technical skill and great turnaround.

Sent Scott my repack IC746Pro. Since I was "off the air" he asked I mark the box "Priority Repair".
Turnaround was ONE DAY! Scott followed up and answered all my questions via email start-to-finish.
He is also aware of the real reason for TX failure -
and heatsinked IC151. I am sending him my OTHER 746 Pro which has TX failed TWICE. Had the mods installed by a local authorized repair facility and STILL FAILED. ICOM, get your head out of the sand (or somewhere else - I'll be polite). ICOM has ruined the rep of a otherwise wonderful radio.
Bet they "invent" a 746ProII just to really fix this.

Kudos to Scott and HIGHLY reccomend MTS..

Better than new Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I will make this short and simple about Scott.

Radios come back from Scott working and even looking better than new.

Fast Service GREAT WORK Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I just received my 749-pro back from Scott. His turn around time is fast(1 week in shop) and of course the repairs are perfect. He has my highest recommendation.

Outstanding! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I recently sent Scott a mobile dual-bander with transmit problems. Turn-around was just under two weeks at minimal cost. He is a craftsman in the finest sense of the word. As he says in his website, 'no charge for head scratching time'!! Send you sick, lame and lazy gear to him; you'll be glad you did! The 'big three' service departments should take a clue from him as to how to treat customers.

Great Service Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Found MTS from previous repair on an IC-2kl/AT500 I purchased used. A few emails to Scott indicated his knowledge of the devices and an effort to avoid sending them in for repair. Service was timely and reasonably priced. I'd recommend MTS to anyone needing Icom service.

MTS Knows his stuff Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Scott repaired my IC-820H and consulted and supplied parts for me to do a simple fix to my IC-471A. The 820 was returned quickly in perfect order. Inspection showed good technique such as the use of the proper screwdrivers. This is not often the case today.
He has also provided advice on the purchase of other used Icom radios.
I can recommend MTS for any Icom problem.
