Great Service Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I knew Scott when I worked for Icom in the early 90's though I doubt he would remember me. I have sent many radios for him to repair. Scott is quick, fair and honest. He is an Icom expert.

Superb Service!!!!!!! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Scott has now done perhaps a dozen service jobs for me over the years, and every one has been superbly done. I have been completel6y satisfied with his work, and his fees are very fair. I recommend him without qualification, esp. for work on legacy Icom equipment. Thanks Scott!!!

Couldn't be Better Time Owned: more than 12 months.
My TM741A was completely dead. It would not power up. Scott diagnosed and fixed the problem for a very reasonable price. I highly recommend his service. A word of caution: Scott is deservedly busy, so you will need to be patient waiting for your repair. Mine took about two months. He sets this expectation from the start. It is well worth the wait.

Excellent service! Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
My IC-765 need the trimmer caps replaced. My Elmer recommended MTS so I sent it off to Scott. Scott's website said that service was taking about 7 weeks, and my IC-765 was done in 6 weeks. Communications from Scott were excellent and the radio was returned well packed in the same double boxes that I sent in. The price was very fair, and the radio works perfectly! If you have an Icom that needs service, I highly recommend MTS!

Excellent Repair Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Just got my 7000 back, random smoke issue, working perfectly. Very happy with the repair, communication and return shipping. It was packaged much better than how I packaged it for the trip there. Highly recommended.

Excellent Radio Service - But ... Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I've rated Scott a 5 for his technical abilities My radio is an ICOM IC-745 and it needed help. VCO caps. and drifting 2nd LO. His website said the turn around time was about 6 weeks and i e-mailed Scott to check on the radio at the 6 week mark and found that it was 'on the bench'. Very excellent. When the radio was returned i found that the radio has been 'rock stable'. Again very excellent.

Now the part that bugged me: When i sent the radio it was double boxed in new boxes with a more than adequate amount of styrofoam 'peanuts' between the radio and the box and the box and the second box ... if you know what i mean. Clear markings on both boxes, etc.
When the radio was returned it had just been put into the inner box only and had not been adequately re-taped before shipping. When i got it, the bottom was separating open and the radio was ready to fall out of the peeling open bottom of the box. The web site indicated to use FedEx to ship it to him, but UPS was used to send it back ... and you know how those guys are. The web site also says the same box will be used to send it back ... not exactly correct. I took pictures in case anything had happened during the return, but fortunately nothing was wrong. Beware and take plenty of pictures. I don't know if Scott himself packed the radio and sent it back, or if someone else did, so be careful.

You might ask why a '5'? Well, this review is about the technical work, and that seems to be above reproach, and not the shipping ... and in reality nothing actually happened to the radio in transit ... almost ...

ICOM-IC735 REVIVAL Time Owned: more than 12 months.
My ICOM IC-735 suffered a stuck rotary encoder (tuning control) and receiver instability. MTS quoted a reasonable quote which turned out to be correct.

The radio is pristine and I was concerned about the "physical treatment" on the bench but it came back cleaner than when it left and totally unscratched. Scott replaced the infamous Plastic Trimmer Caps and must have tweaked the receiver because it hears better now than when I shipped it. The Tuning control which was previously totally "locked-up" now turns like silk. Turnaround time was about 3 weeks as advertised.

The radio was returned totally unscathed, wrapped in clean, protective plastic, surrounded by plastic peanuts in a sturdy box. It now works just fine. Email communication with Scott was quick and totally professional.

Repair R-71A Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Bought a really nice R71A on Ebay. Stopped working and based on reviews, sent it to Scott. The antenna fuse had blown and while it was there, had him install some filters. Got the rig back but would not work when outside ring of coax connected. Scott suggested a shorted coax or bad antenna switch. It was a faulty switch. The charges for the work were very reasonable. Scott wants to make sure his customers are satisfied with his work.I definitely would rely on him again for repair.
