Awesome portable power source for your rig! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
The 12V Prestone 'JumpIt' is a very portable and convenient way to power your HF or VHF rig for portable use (camping, hilltopping, vacationing, etc.)! It is technically a car battery charger and power source, and has a front 'lighter plug' DC source outlet, a built-in emergency light, and a really cool and effective color coded battery condition indicator guage! It also has a large positive and a negative battery terminal clamp for car batteries, but I found that this is a quick and convenient way to attach a rig's power cord wires (the clamps simply attach to the end of the rig's power cable ends). It comes with an AC 12v 'wall wart' charger, and the unit will fully charge in about 12 hours (essentially an overnite charge). Powering my 25W Ranger 5054DX 6m rig with the 'JumpIt' was a pleasant surprise, as I was able to get 2 full days use (6 hours a day) on just one charge!!! Running portable for the CQ WW VHF contest from a campsite, I was able to work 26 states and 68 grids using a home-brew 2 element yagi and the 'JumpIt'!!! If Prestone advertised this thing in QST, it would sell in the thousands. It is that good!

Great 12v portable source Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
This is a fully enclosed, encased in yellow plastic, 12v portable power supply that does a great job of providing juice for your portable rig. I connected my portable HF radio, the IC-718 to this portable supply and an outdoor dipole, and I was able to work one DX station after another with excellent reports on 10m! I operated all day at about 60 watts reduced power output, and the battery still worked great! If you are looking for an excellent rechargeable portable 12v DC power supply for your radios, this is it!
