Not so simple, to so many kilometers! Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
The first PS-125 obtained it with the purchase (sept-2003) of a 756PRO2, and I didn't really look like each other of trust and I continued using the PS-15. I sold the PS-125 with an old IC-746, in even and they have not reported me problems, the new user.
Then (apr-2006) I wanted to arm a small station with the 706MK2G and one needed. Take advantage to buy it, quite expensive in AES (used), the same one is according to the cable of the year 2000, to today it works without difficulty.
Then in (march-2007) I buys for ebay.com an IC-746PRO+PS125. The rig and power supply is new!walks excellent rig but the PS-125 has an electric buzzing, the same one it is according to the cable of the year 2006. Incredible, I never thought that the PS-15 continues being unbreakable and silent. Never but! Josè

Beware of noise Time Owned: more than 12 months.
The good: it delivers 13.8 DC volts.
The bad: You buy ICOM rig and get PS free, but most replace it with another brand. Nothing free. Whatever it costs ICOM, you pay for it in the price of the radio. Then you get to pay for another decent supply once you hear the PS come on. I have same gripes as other reviewers: fan noise, fan noise, fan noise and silly short cord. The after market price is far too expensive for what you get. ICOM just trying to make a buck with the free PS business. Too bad it is so noisy. I only keep my PS-125 as an emergency spare in the event my ASTRON goes out. I would repair or replace it in a heartbeat. 73

No Problems Here Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
If you want a matching power supply for your Pro, its the only game in town. Mine is quiet, both sonically and in the area of RFI. Runs my rig from sunrise to sunset without a wimper. As far as I'm concerned it doesn't exist. Isn't that the function of a good power supply.

Why? Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Noisy fan that cycles on/off no matter if you're in RX or TX! Why, it does it need to turn on in 44 degree F, indoor weather, during receive?

WORKS FOR ME!! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I recently received this power supply with the Icom IC-746PRO I purchased, and my power supply is quiet as can be. It took over 2 hours of operation before the fan kicked in, and I had to turn everything off in the shack in order to hear the fan in operation. Very quiet fan. No weird screaching sounds like many others have said. Also no RF hash. I turned on 5 other HF rigs on, tried them on each band, and no RF hash. I would buy this power supply again if I needed another one. Works great for me, as advertised!!

Just too noisy and has whine Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Don't know why Icom even bother giving this PS away for free. It's too noisy and has a whine that is so distracting that I even hesitate placing it on eBay or selling it to someone else for fear they will have the same disappointment I've had with the unit. What I can't understand is why the PS turns its fan on every few minutes, even when not in transmit mode. This thing 'ain't' right.

Solid performer, well built . Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have the iCom PS-125 that I use with several of my iCom rigs at different times. The supply is very convenient, comes with the matching power plug connector (no need to crimp or solder any connectors to a third party supply) which makes it a "plug & play" solution straight of the box. No RF hash problems whatsoever. Best of all it matches up to my radios' appearnace making for nice matching set.

There are other decent supplies out there (I've owned quite a few over the years, some being too heavy to consider portable such as linear supplies, and others that are portable but not as good as the PS-125. The PS-125 is light and easy to transport if you need to.

I have also owned the RS-35M linear supply. It's a tank and has the wieght of one. I gave it a good review, but later after that it developed a hum and power it on and off made it nearly jump off the desk. Not sure what was going on with it, but I have long since sold it a "problem supply". Not sure of whatever came of it.

If heavy and If the connector convenience and matched looked of the iCom PS-125 isn't a big deal for you, then you could consider another power supply that I use for camping with our Airstream Travel Trailer, and that is the Daiwa SS-330W in which I was among the first U.S. buyers when they became available. You can see a pic of it under the reviews here where I created the review category for that model. It does quite well, and I even bought a second for a spare to use in combination with field day generators. It also has amp and voltage meters, and and an adjutable voltage dial which of course is a nice plus.

In the end, if you like to have matching gear, the iCom PS-125 is a fine choice. Even better, iCom is including this supply with some of their rigs like the 746Pro which makes the choice easy if you happen to be a buyer of that radio. My PS-125 always stays home and serves this duty well.

PS 125 hash Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Ibought an Icom IC735 off eBay which came with a PS125 power supply. Both were in very good condition, virtually unmarked. My beef with the PS 125 is the amount of hash it radiates. I have two other receivers in the shack monitoring a couple of marine frequencies. As soon as the PS 125 is switched on they become unusable. A check with a beneral coverage reciver (NOT the IC735) shows that the hash peakes at S9+10db at 5 Mhz. It is S9 at 4 Mhz (the marine frequency) S5 to S7 on 40 metres and S3 to S5 on 80 metres. It tapers off on the higher frequencies but is still evident on 10 metres. This means that I can only use the IC735 on strong signals. This makes the fan noise problem a non-issue.

very quiet and small, so glad it was free or would have continued to use astron, good supply but quite large and noisy.
