Failed after 2 years Time Owned: more than 12 months.
When it was working it was a great antenna, but for the price paid, I figured it would last longer than 2 years. The manufacturer warantee is for 1 year, so I lose.
Failure was infinite SWR after 30 MPH winds. The lower unit is sealed so it was not able to be repaired. I finally cut it open and found a broked lead on a small disc capacitor. Probably failed from flexing in the wind. No more 2 and 3 section antennas for me. Replaced it with a Hustler G6-270R, single section Dual-Band. Less gain than the X-510, but built like a brick you know what and I figure much longer life. Also had an X-500 which failed because of water intrusion at the threaded joints. It lasted 3 years. If you want a repeater antenna and it's in a tough place to get to, don't pick a Diamond multi-section.
