Best ever. Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Tarheel antennas are by far the very best bar none.
I have had one for four years and don't have any complaints. Tarheel service goes far & beyond anything you can thing of. I have nothing but praise
for the product & the staff of Tarheel mfg.
Don Brooks Sr. K5ALF k5alf1@comcast.net I can go on & on about tarheel but the best knowledge is is having one.

Maybe the best of all Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
4 only because of service. Product is as good as it comes. Was misled on what it was I needed and hadd to pay return shipping for something that was the fault of the company. Happened twice same week. Doubt I would buy from them again, but love what I have. You can't get a better antenna but you can pay more.

Great Antenna Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I own both the 100A HP and 200A HP. I have owned them for over three years. The 200A HP is my base station antenna. No one can believe that I am using a screwdriver antenna from my QTH in my HOA. The 100A HP is used for my portable operations. See photo's on page 3 base installation photos on the Tarheel web sight. Customer support is well above that, of any other company with the same of product line.

9 Plus year review Time Owned: more than 12 months.
straight and simple. I own 2 M-100's. oldest going on 9 years. have logged 300k miles with them over the years. Still own them. Have run milli watts to legal limit. Sure I keep them up. Alittle simple dusting and cleaning now and then. Same 2 antennas. Rarely ever ever miss a contact. WB0W and NC4ME and company. Simply BRAVO.....Invest in this line of antennas if you want the best of HF-Mobile antenna. 73's Mark KG8DP

Outstanding Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I bought my first Tarheel 100HP about a year and a half ago after getting poor results from a High Sierra HS-1800 Pro and I couldn't be more satisfied with the Tarheel. It works great. In fact I own two of them, one on my S-10 and the other on my F-150 and I have influenced the purchase of five more Tarheel antennas. Want a reliable/useable HF mobile signal? Get one for yourself. Considering a High Sierra HS-1800 Pro? Do yourself a favor and read my review of my experience with that company's antenna and customer support.

MODEL 75 - ONE GREAT ANTENNA Time Owned: more than 12 months.
This is my second review. In June 2007 I bought a Little Tarheel while living in Florida. That antenna worked great. I loved working DX on my way to work every morning and night.

My wife and I decided to move back to our hometown in Western, NY. While on the way back to NY from FL my car was destroyed by fire while attached to a car carrier. Another car on the car carrier had caught fire, which caught my car on fire, and everything was a total loss.

After getting a new car (paid for by my insurance) I called Gaylen and told him what happened and that I wanted to upgrade to the Model 75. He said he was sorry to hear my Little Tarheel was destroyed. He gave me a deal on the Model 75 that I couldn't refuse. I am not going to say what the deal was but it was good enough for me to pull my debit card out of my wallet and buy it on the spot. That was on a Tuesday and the antenna was delivered to me on that Friday. I had it delivered to work and all the guys in my office had a good laugh while I was out there on my lunch break installing it. No one had ever seen a HF Mobile Antenna before. They were all amazed though when I made a CQ call on 17 Meters and a reply for Spain was heard over my speaker. They all thought that was the coolest thing.

I have the antenna mounted on my trunk using a pedestal mount and backing plate from Breedlove Mounts in North Carolina. I didn't realize how big the Model 75 is, but I must say, the antenna works GREAT!

I want to personally thank Gaylen, and Jean at WB0W for all there help. Those two are always so polite and very happy to help you in any way they can.

Just a side note, I was thinking about buying a HI-Q Antenna instead of a Tarheel for my new car. I went and read the reviews here on Eham of the HI-Q and everyone says they work well. BUT almost everyone said how RUDE and UNDER MINDING the owner Charlie is. If you read the reviews of his antennas almost everyone says how rude he is. That was all I needed to hear. I don't ever want to spend 400 to 500 for an antenna then have a question about it and be treated like crap for calling and asking that questions. So they lost a customer because of that. I emailed Charles to tell him I wasn't buying from him because of his lack of customer service. In his reply he had a few choice words for me. So I guess the reviews of his attitude stands true.

THANK YOU GAYLEN, JEAN, AND ROBERT FOR BEING 100% CUSTOMER FRIENDLY. YOU HAVE GAINED A CUSTOMER FOR LIFE.

M40HP - "CRAFTMANSHIP AT ITS BEST" Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I'VE USED TARHEEL ANTENNAS SINCE I STARTED HF MOBILE IN 2002. I UPGRADED FROM THE ORIGINAL LITTLE TARHEEL TO THE M75 STUBBY, THEN SEVERAL PROTOTYPE ANTENNAS AND FINALLY THE M40HP. THEY ALL WORK EXCEPTIONALLY WELL BUT THE UPGRADE WAS DUE TO MY UPGRADE FROM MID SIZE MOBILE AMPLIER TO HI-POWER AMP. I'VE BEEN WORKING THE M40HP FOR 4YRS NOW USUALLY RUNNING ANYWHERE FROM 400W TO 1KW EVERYDAY FOR LAST 3YRS. THE ANTENNA TAKES PHYSICAL AND RF ABUSE AND IT KEEPS ON TICKING. I TAKE GREAT PRIDE ANSWERING QUESTIONS LIKE WHAT ANTENNA ARE YOU USING? TARHEEL!!. THERE ARE SEVERAL SCREWDRIVER ANTENNAS ON THE MARKET AND I TRUST THEY ALL WORK WELL, BUT I WILL NEVER HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO EXPERIENCE ANY OF THEM AS LONG AS TARHEEL ANTENNAS ARE IN PRODUCTION. ROBERT AND CINDY HAVE SET THE STANDARD IN PRODUCT SUPPORT AND CUSTOMER SERVICE IN MY OPINION AND GAYLEN(WB0W) IS CONTINUING THE TRADITION. AWESOME PRODUCT GENTS. SEMPER FI

BUILT LIKE A TANK Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have a Tarheel model 75 Stubby I have had this thing for three years now. I am a trucker and I gotta tell ya, this antenna has been though PURE 100% HELL and it just keeps on working .It has been smacked by tree branches , it has been so cover in ice I had to take it off the truck and thaw it out ,it has been in snow storms, major down pours , cover in mud and it just keeps working . I had a problem with it once and it was operator error . I have the digital controller and that thing had a stroke but the antenna is great .I have heard people say that Tarheeels are junk but I think it has to do with thier instalation. I have had this antenna on 5 differnt trucks , it has been installed in the very same way on all trucks with not one problem . GREAT ANTENNA

Model 40A-HP Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I really like this antenna. With my current setup it will tune from 10-40 meters with flat standing wave all the way across, and it isn't very narrow banded at all, only on 40 is it a little.

I did have to adjust the little coil that they send you to get my SWR on 20 and 40 flat, and that was a breeze. They are well made, and come with everything that you need!

I would recommend these antennas to anyone! And it does seem to outperform my Wilson 1000 on 10 meters, which was surprising.
