This one worked within minutes of the download! GR Time Owned: unknown months.
After downloading a number of programs, I finally found YPLOG, downloaded it, and was up and running within minutes. It was so easy to set it up for my Icom 765. I wish this was the first program I found and tried. I cant imagine anything better but I will reserve the 5 star rating for my registered version.

Rising star on the logging sky Time Owned: unknown months.
This fresh logging software is under extensive construction but it does all I wanted. The statistics are under development. YPLOG has radio and CD-ROM callbook support, packet radio cluster spotting capability including highly configurable filtering possibilities and a passive mode to receive spots without any connection to the cluster node. There are two most impressive highlights which cannot be found on other programs - the configurable keyboard. There is no need to use tricky touches, you simply configure the keyboard to match your wishes. I used ENTER key to write the QSO into log and SPACEBAR to jump from a field to other. The report automatically changing from 2 to 3 digits depending on the mode read from the radio and the S digit is highlighted. You can simply overwrite the default 9 to match the received report. Logging can be even simpler than with TR Log!
The unique Country & Area recognition algorithm supports my tables which results in perfect recognition not only all countries but areas, provinces, states, club & military stations, Antarctic bases (no more hassle around VP8!), drifting ice stations and all possible prefixes since 1945! I bet a barrel of a good beer if you find better country recognition system!

There is no Microsoft-like upgrading policy and you may download the evaluation version at no cost. This version is 99% functional (it has all essential features, there are no packet radio tricks) and is not time limited. The registration fee is very acceptable (40$). You should try YPLOG before buying an expensive logging software! Visit http://www.nucleus.com/~field or mirror http://www.qsl.net/ve6yp. The most fresh tables are at http://www.qsl.net/ok1rr.
