It works better than most! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This is a great piece of gear. I usually build my own gear (and I built several PSK31 interfaces) but when I got my new radio I broke down and bought the MFJ. It has isolated IN and OUT audio lines! Something other manufacters don't do. It also comes with all the cables needed to hook this up to your radio and computer (except the RS232). It is a value at the current street price of just over $80. The software stinks but all the good software is available free on the internet. A great buy and I highly recommend it.

some trouble, but worth the price Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I just purchased the mfj-1275 interface yesterday. I couldnt wait to get it up and running. The manual is pretty good in telling you how to contact the jumpers for your radios mic. Hooking up the unit took me awhile because I wassomewhat shocked that the unit didnt come with a DB-9 cable, so i had to make a special trip down to the local Radio Shack store to purchase a cable. After a while I finally got it up and running, The software that comes with unit does work but i'm sure there is something better out there. Overall the unit is pretty easy to use and the price was fair compared to similiar unit on the market

Then I Bought a West Mountain Radio RigBlaster Plus Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Filled with excitement about it potential applications, I purchased a MFJ-1275M (modular mic connector interface).

The first suprise was that the modular mic connector had 8 contact points and my Yaesu FT-100D had 6. My local dealer supportingly exchanged the 1275M unit for a 1275 (round 8-pin mic connector model) and then ordered a custom made adapter cable from Yaesu for me as a solution to this problem.

After resolving the mic connection interface problem, I followed the standard jumper configurations for a newer Yaesu 8-pin round mic that were provided by MFJ for the 1275, and verified that the adapter cable was redirecting the 8-pin connections to the proper 6-pins for the FT-100D modular mic input. I still couldn't get it work.

Online product support information via the MFJ website was non-existent. Technical phone support didn't provide useable results. By the way, MFJ redirects your call for Tech Support for this product to a diffent phone number than they use for their other products.

In addtion, the CW decoding software included with the MFJ-1275 is totally out of date. It is DOS based. It wouldn't even work under Windows XP. I didn't try to use any of the other software programs provided on the included MFJ CD, so I can't speak about them.

In the end, I was never able to get the MFJ-1275 to interface properly with my rig after numerous hours of painstaking attempts to do so, and finally quit trying in total frustration with the product. I still feel that I wasted my money for this product and alot of my time. I returned the MFJ-1275 to the dealer I bought it from and asked him to try and sell it as used equipment for me. Still waiting!

I ended up buying a West Mountain Radio (WMR) Rigblaster Plus (RB Plus) and had it interfaced and properly working with my Yaesu rig in about an hour. Even in less time when I later reconfigured it to use with my Icom.

Everything that was lacking with the MFJ-1275, was covered with the RigBlaster Plus. Clear and concise user documentation, extensive on-line support information provided on their website (24/7), and software that worked under Windows! It's a turnkey solution.

There was never a reason for me to call WMR for Tech Support. If the information wasn't covered in their documentaion, I could find it on their website under Support.

In addition, they even provided solutions for software patches to deal with Windows interfacing issues. The WMR RB Plus delivers as advertised. The MFJ-1275 didn't, for me.

I own other MFJ products and have been pleased with their performance. The MFJ-1275 was a total disappointment. It definately Needs Help!

This little box worked flawlessly Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I purchased the MFJ 1275 after considering the following
1) Being a ham on a very limited budget I wanted the most bang for the buck. The 1275 was less than the RigBlaster which offers a few more bells and whistles but the price difference makes up for the MFJ's short comings(not much difference besides having to push a button on the front of the MFJ to switch from vox operation to ptt operation simple set up for the jumpers so that I do not have to unplug the mic to use the unit such as you do with the tigertronics matter of fact you can not use your mic while hooked into the tigertronics unit The Unit is easy to set up easy to use well labeled and comes with all the patch cords you will need minus the db9 serial port connector which can be obtained just about at any Dept.store or electronics store
I had the unit up and running 30 minutes form the time I got it out of the box till first psk contact.A pretty good buy
