Another great Comet Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I've owned many Comet antennas over the years and this one just adds to the list. The local HAM store I purchase from actually recommended a clone to save money. I bought this one because Comet has been faithful to me therefore I'll be faithful to the brand.

Solid Performer Time Owned: more than 12 months.
This Comet CA-2x4SR antenna is a solid performer on 2m/70cm, and GMRS (WQJB550) frequencies equally as well. It's easy to tune and able to withstand the wind at 75+ mph travel, in addition to standing up to the occasional branch that I thought was higher than it turned out to be. I'm so pleased with how this antenna performs that I purchased another one for my wife's vehicle. Thanks Comet for the performance, durability and reasonable pricing of this antenna.

Very good antenna Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I have had mine for about 6 months now and no problems. Performance is great. I have no problems staying in contact with the local APRS digipeaters which are scarce. I have also used this with my Kenwood D710 to talk to workers at my job on 462 Mhz. SWR is about 2.1 on that frequency. Tuning the antenna for 2 meter, I could only get it down to a 1.5. Reception is great and the antenna is very well built. SOLID!

Well Made Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I bought this antenna based primarily on reviews and word of mouth. It is a Japanese product and very durable looking. I also purchased the CP-5M Universal adjustable lip mount with coax and mounted the antenna on the rear driver side door of my truck. It has a fold-over hinge and is broadbanded enough to be useful on other frequencies other than 2m/70cm.

WOW!!! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
In addition to being a ham, I am a K9 search and rescue technician. I use my radios (VX-829 HT and VX-4200 mobile) on both amateur and public safety bands. I called the good folks at Comet and they recommended this antenna since it covered everything from 140–160 in the VHF band. I tested it with an MFJ-259B antenna analyzer and it was never more than 1:3 off in the advertised range, and at our team's frequency of 154.XXX it was 1:1. We tested it on the same truck using the same mount against my buddy's SBB5, and we got MUCH better readings with the CA-2x4SR at all advertised frequencies. The cost of the CA-2x4SR is only about $10 more than the SBB5. It is a rugged 40" unit with a sturdy fold-down feature. I already had a NMO mount, so I sprung for a Comet PL-259 to NMO adapter ($17), and it worked like a dream. If you have a need to get on the public safety bands in addition to the 2m amateur band, this is the antenna. We will put one on our team's snowmobile this winter and really put it to the torture test. I'll let you know how that works out.

Matches easy Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Traded for this antenna and a Comet 730 mount and cable assembly, The first dual band antenna that would match easy. Got 1.2swr on 146.00, also seems to be fairly rugged. 73s Pat kx5f

great antenna! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I own two of them. No corrosion after more than two years outside. Tx performance on 140-160MHz and 435-465MHz can be verified.

GREAT Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I had two of these antennas and truly loved them. The first antenna, someone loved better than me and borrowed it, but forgot to return it. The second just couldn't withstand the force of the wreck I was involved in. I had it mounted on the left mirror of a 98 freightliner. The recieve was great. I never had a problem hitting distant repeaters on either band. Tree limbs didn't seem to bother it either. Was well worth the money both times.

Great multi purpose ant. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Dito.
1.8 vswr max on the highest GMRS repeater inputs
Flat on 462. this is with a kenwood tk880 txcver.

also did a tests on the vhf DOT freqs. never had and ant this flat before.

2m/440 ham great as well.

the preceived Gain on UHF is excellent and on 2m i could tell a difference. what do you expect for 3db. I have it on a HONDA CRV on the right rear door. A rather neat installation Although it took a long time to figure how i was going to mount it. the Radio was another bear.

I am new to this ant so time will tell for the durability aspect. the construction quality is not quite what my diamond sg7500 is/was. I had it installed for 6yrs mobile on two cars.

this is truley the SUV of mobile antennas.

Great Performence Time Owned: more than 12 months.
This antenna is marketed as a 146/446 antenna, but it performs remarkably well on 222 mhz. I had put this antenna on a swr
analyzer and found it to be very resonant on 222 mhz., also if you happen to have a GMRS license the antenna works great
there too as I found it to be very broad banded on UHF. This antenna works perfect for my Kenwood TM-742a with the 220
module. I use this antenna on my Honda Civic, Hole mounted on the trunk. I have been told not to use this on a magnet type
mount, as the antenna needs a sufficient ground. The antenna is very rugged, I have owned this for at least six years and has held
up very well. If you want a high performance antenna for a duel band radio this is the ticket.
