Review Summary For : M2 2M18XXX
Reviews: 4MSRP: 264
Description:
The 2M18XXX has been extensively used by many moonbouncers and other weak signal enthusiasts for the last eight years. The clean, sharp pattern yields a very good G/T (gain/temperature in K) which, in everyday language, means you hear more signal and less noise. It is ideal as a single antenna or in stacked arrays of 24 or more antennas, yielding a full 6 dB of stacking gain for four or more antennas! Mechanically, the boom is strong in the middle and tapered in 1/4" steps to reduce weight and wind area. M2 has integrated the computer optimized design with the unique driven element module. The aluminum CNC machined housing features "O" ring seals on all three connectors and internal connections are potted in silicon gel than enhances the power handling capability. That is important to those who feel life is too short for QRP! All hardware is stainless except the U-bolts. By all standards the "18XXX" is a true thoroughbred among VHF antennas!
Product is in production

Great for 2 Meter DX Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
This antenna is the ultimate for working 2 meter DX. Using 1,500 watts I am able to work 500 miles anytime day or night on CW. If you want the best performance for 2 meter DX..this is the antenna for you.

Longtime Owner Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have had M2 18XXX stacked through the years with 14 ft spacing since 1990 ish .They work fabulous. Yes we have had the broken boom where the hole has gone through the element on top 2m18xxx after 7 or 8 years up in the air from vibration at the top of mast .The one 14 ft lower never had a problem.
We hope we solved that problem by spraying liquid foam inside that boom section.
No doubt this antenna setup will give me many more years of service .Thanks M2inc

a good antenna Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I run 2 2m18xxx. The antenna performs very well. Had an ice storm and the antennas survived. The problems with the antenna are that the tube that supports the boom is not strong enough and the turnbuckles will pull right through the tube. I know, it happened to me. I made mine out of steel. Also the mounting plate to the boom is too light and too small. You cannot even use a nut driver on it. I made a larger and stronger plate. If they would correct these problems it would make a very good antenna.

Best Long Boomer on the Market Time Owned: more than 12 months.
THe only change to the station was this antenna and I was able to work those last couple of grids for the VUCC. My contest scores have improved significantly and the second one is going up this spring.
