Worked well Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I had an ASAC-100 for abt 7 monthes. It tuned my Carolina Cyclone screwdriver antenna fine on all bands. I used it with a 706MKIIg. Grounding MUST be done right and well! I have to agree with the last post, just because the company is gone does not mean the equipment is bad. I no longer use the ASAC because i changed trucks and now use the AH4 with the 706.

Works as advertised Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Just installed combination ICOM IC-706MKIIG, Yaesu ATAS-100,ASAC-100 into new Nissan Xterra and extremely pleased with results. It works as advertised- just push the "tune" button and it automatically moves the ATAS-100 to lowest SWR achievable with your installation. Notice I said "achievable". The ASAC-100 is not an antenna tuner. It only provides the motor voltage to move the screwdriver and detects a 50-ohm load. Proper GROUNDING of the ATAS-100 is absolutely essential in its installation to achieve lowest SWR. I was able to achieve 1.1 SWR on all bands 10-40 meters and 1.7 on 6 meters. Haven't tried it on 144 or 440 as I use another antenna for those bands. Still experimenting with grounding to lower SWR on 6 meters as IC-706 cuts back power over 1.5. Only "quirk" I've noticed is after setting the "target" SWR on 12 meters, then tuning to another band and going back to 12 meters, the controller will miss the target and continue searchig beyond the lowest SWR. All the other bands hit the target and stop on the lowest SWR. Carlos at AM-COM is very helpful and accomodating with any questions and hints. Perhaps this is another grounding issue and am still tinkering. Otherwise, system works great, getting good signal reports. Used Hamsticks before, was pleased with their performance, but the convenience of changing bands on the fly, not even looking at the SWR meter, is super and safer. Anyone else having the 12 meter problem with this or the original ASAC (for other brands of screwdrivers)? Maybe a software glitch?
