Must have for sma HT's Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I've used mine for a few months now and love it. Don't spend your money on any other SMA to BNC adapters, this is the one to get.

Fantastic adapter! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I can't say enough good things about Stephen's SMA-to-BNC adapters. I also have a HT that has a SMA connector that I feared would break off when I change antennas (and you MUST replace the original rubber ducky on ALL HTs). The design is fantastic and it works great. Stephen is great to work with. He sent me my adapter before he received my check for the adapter. It is great to know that the honor system works well with hams. I agree with the previous review; if you don't need a SMA-to-BNC adapter today, you will need one soon!

You need one!!! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Even if you don't have a radio with a SMA connection. You never know when that time will arrive. I just got one and it was about time. I was playing with the idea of build one myself, but Stephen selection of materials and workmanship is just too good to pass by.

How Did I Live Without It? Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
5 years from now there will be a dozen knockoffs of KC2BHO's outstanding idea - it sets the standard for what we should all expect from this type of adapter. After buying one for each of my HT's, I can't understand how I lived without them. If you have an SMA connector on your HT - this item should be mandatory for your RACES go bag!!!

protect your radio. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
If you're going to spend 200 or more dollars on a radio with an SMA connector, spend just a few more to get this adapter. My Kenwood TH F6 is a great little HT but the SMA antenna connector is not designed to have the connector constantly screwed and unscrewed. This well made device is simple and inexpensive. Stephen is a pleasure to deal with and your radio will reward you with an undamaged antenna connection after numerous antenna changes. I am constantly changing my antenna from the triband rubber duck to a long wire for SW and the BNC is a lot more rugged.

Must have!! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
When I first got my Yeasu VX5-R, I wasn't too happy with the fact that it had a SMC rather than a BNC connector. All my HT antennas have the BNC connector so I needed something in the way of an adapter. So I went off and bought a stock standard SMC to BNC connector and used it for about a week and a half, when I decided that it always looked as if the connector would break off any second now when I handled the radio.

I then came across Stephen Gulyas' connector and decided to order one. Dealing with Stephen was an absolute pleasure and boy was I ecstatic when I first fitted the adapter to the VX5-R. There is absolutely no give between the adapter and the HT. The rubber skirting makes a perfect fit to keep any moisture or dust out.

These adpaters come for a range of radios and in my opinion should be the absolute first accessory you should get for your radio if you are thinking of using BNC connector antennas.

A Must Have! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I don't care for the SMA adapter on my 2M HT but the SMA to BNC or UHF adapters were so weak that I thought that I had no choice but to continue to use the SMA antenna connector/mount.

That changed, recently, when I found out about a product from KC2BHO. Stephen makes an SMA to BNC adapter that "has a very substantial rubber support that fits tight and provides a very solid mount" for a replacement antenna or coax cable. "The rubber base seals to the top of the radio with NO SPACERS needed for moisture and dirt protection." Each model of this adapter is made to fit a specific model of HT.

Additionally Stephen was very friendly and prompt to deal with.

If you are unhappy with the SMA mount on your HT then this might be just what you've been looking for!
