Couldn't ask for better! Time Owned: N.A.
My TH-D7A(G) lost all VHF power output and required service. I mailed it to Kenwood Service Center East in Virgina and it was repaired and back on my doorstep exactly 7 days after I mailed it (Tallahassee, FL). The radio works to factory specs now. I was absolutely stunned when the radio showed back up at my door so quickly because I never expected it to be so quick. I really expected maybe a month or so, but this is the fastest warranty repair I've ever experienced. I wish they were all this way!

Very poor service Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I sent my TS-430S which would not transmit to Kenwood Service Center East. After several weeks it was returned with a $65.00 charge and a note "unit not worth repairing".
I heard about Cliff at AVVid in Texas and sent my TS-430S to him. He repaired it in short order, replaced transistors in final, some other parts, complete realignment to factory specs and returned it to me for $174.00 including shipping. I will only use AVVid in the future.

Good so lets see how it holds up Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Sent my TH G71 HT for warranty service. The radio would not go into VFO or re-set. It was mailed Saturday 7/6 and it was back to me in New York on 7/11. Pretty quick service. It was repaired at Kenwood Service Center East in Virginia Beach.

So far the radio is working fine.

its back... Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
what to say...

arrived today without the memory intact. hmmmm..
that didnt happen last time.

replaced defective control... hmmmm...
last time repaired power circuit... hmmm...

anyone else having this or any such problem??

i thought it might be something I was doing.
same tech (#8) as last time. whatever he did involved erasing all i had programmed. no i dont have the programming cable, but they maybe could have saved it for download later, if the back up battery needed to be removed. im sure there is a cable lying about somewhere. oh well.

lets see what happens next. N1ZMH

well no sooner than i write about my radio does it fail me, again.

the first time i sent in my thf6a was for a failed power circuit, under warranty. no reason for the failure ,just failed and replaced. ok ,it only took a week to get it back,no harm done. it happened again last week. ??????? is there something i should know? has anyone else had this happen?is this typical of kenwood products and service?

anyway we will wait and see... how long?.?.

No problems Time Owned: more than 12 months.
When the backup battery in my TS-850 failed after 6 years of use, I packed it up and sent it off to Kenwood's Virginia Beach, VA facility. I also had them replace the VFO's optical shaft encoder, which had an intermittent problem- no frequency change over about 30 degrees of rotation. In about 10 days I got a post card from them with a repair tracking number. I got the radio itself back in about 5 or 6 weeks, in proper working condition. The charge to my credit card seemed reasonable. 18 months has since passed, and I've had no further problems with the radio.
