Turn an HT-750 into a serious base rig Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
The HT-750 is an amazing 6m/15m/40m SSB/CW handheld and remains my favorite ham toy of all time. The HL-750 (still available from THP) is the larger of the two matching amps, rated at 50W output when used with the HT-750. (The HL-710 10W amp is also available.) In reality I found that the rating was conservative: the amp put out more like 60W on all bands with the rated 2W input on 6m and 3W input on 15m and 40m.

The HL-750 is a relatively small linear, it only draws 10 amps max key down transmit, runs cool, and successfully turns the HT-750 into a very credible base rig thanks to the HT's excellent receiver, built-in keyer, and generally decent performance. With the HL-750, HT-750, and a speaker/mic. I feel I can put a very nice signal on the air from anywhere.

What can I say? If you own an HT-750 go order one of these while they are still available. It's money well spent.
