Great headphones are a must Time Owned: unknown months.
This is the 3rd year I've used these headphones for the 160m CQ SSB contest. What can I say that these other guys forgot to add. Hmmm, don't forget to get the foot switch for hands free operation and the preamp might be handy. Anything that aids in the reception of really weak signals and frees up your hands.

Look no further, best on the market Time Owned: unknown months.
I've worn every kind of headphones ever created. The Heil Pro-set is light, comfortable, receive audio is sweet and so is transmit courtesy of Heil mike elements. Some don't like the crisp sound, I love it. Beautiful, the only problem is forgetting that you have them on!

Heil Proset Time Owned: unknown months.
I have had one of these for about three years and can't imagine contesting without it. It greatly facilitates the effective use of two receivers during a contest.

I use the broader response cartridge (forgot the number) because I think it makes my signal easier to tune on a crowded band and because Drake reccommends against using mics with high freq emphasis with my T4XC. Using mild compression with the Proset and my trusty T4XC I frequently get unsolicited praise of my audio quality.

Very light, very comfortable, very effective, great product.

The Heil Proset is Top notch Time Owned: unknown months.
I started off with the Heil BM10 several years ago. This was a fine, ultra light weight headset with a small boom mic. The only problems I ever had was forgeting about it and having it snached off my head as I got. The other one was accedently closing the desk drawer on the very small cord and damaging it.

The one I got to replace the BM10 was the Proset. I prefered the #5 cartridge for it. This head set is almost as light as the old BM10, but VERY comfortable even after doing the CQWW SSB with it. When I am not in the Contesting or DXing mode, I just lay them on the desk with the boom standing straight up, and use it as a desk mic. I can not think of DXing with out it.

We used Heil Prosets on our DXPedition to Eritrea, and the operators all paid to take there Heils home with them rather than sending them back to Heil..
