Description:
CyberCWContest is a software simulation of an amateur radio contest. The user attempts to work as many stations in as many different countries and zones on one or more amateur bands in a given time period, using Morse code (CW).

The software generates a simulated radio environment, where the operator can tune the HF contest bands and actually hear computer generated station activity. The user either identifies and answers DX stations or calls CQ and responds to stations that call. The probability of a user hearing a given station is dependent upon:

* Time of day (estimated propagation)
* Noise Level (band related)
* QRM from other simulated stations
* Band in use and frequency (estimated propagation)
* Number of "real world" amateurs in the particular country
* Your latitude and longitude (estimated propagation to other station)

Prices now cheaper! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
The interface is old fashioned, from the Windows 98 days. But it does a fine job replicating actual busy contest situations.

Pile ups will follow any clear signal you tune, need to pounce. Matter of fact seldom find signals in the clear. Sometimes your call will be ignored, other times they come back when you have little hope among the crowd. As in reality.

Conditions are more crowded and competitive than in real life. But on the other hand that means there are more signals to hear. For learning convenience, the speed which the other guys will use will close to what you have put into the settings from 10 to 35 wpm.

IMO, a good step above learning the code and before going on the air. Wish this was available back in my day :/.

The price is down to about $20 as the interface is now somewhat dated. But it works as a simulation surprisingly well. Different bands will change conditions as the time of day or night marches on.

Fun software. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
If you wish to practice CQWWDX contesting in a controlled environment this program is for you. For only $39 you can operate in the CQWWDX CW contest at any time and measure your performance. I have had hours of fun with this program and have improved my cw and keyboard skills.

This program creates good pileup conditions and provides some ability to tune in signals. You can even hunt for rare calls. The demo version does allow you to try before you buy.
