Big white flexible stick. Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I'm currently using one of these antennas on my UHF repeater and VHF link transceiver - with the invaluable assistance of a Maxrad diplexer. The antenna works but the coax attachment is flimsy and it is not a very rigid antenna. The gain claims, in my opinion, are very optimistic. Given the length of this thing I would've expected much better performance on UHF, and perhaps VHF too. Internals rattle around loosely inside and I have to question how long it will last sometimes!

GREAT Antenna, BUT..... Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
This is a GREAT performing antenna! BUT DO NOT CONFUSE it with current production Cushcraft antennas!!!!! THIS antenna is White FIBERGLASS construction. I do not know why Cushcraft had to name so many different antenna models so similar, other than confuse the buyer. The current production Cushcraft Omni vertical antennas DO NOT perform like this now discontinued model. This fiberglass antenna has GREAT gain, But really "whips around" in higher winds..... and is NOT at DC ground potential at the tip. I would be nervous with one at the very top of a big tower during a lightning storm.......

Discontinued, but excellent Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Hard or impossible to find now, but an antenna with good gain, especially on uhf, that is a
good choice for a tech class or above that wants a one shot antenna that gets a signal
out, receives well, when tower space, money, and neighbors are a consideration. How
much longevity it has remains to be seen, wish something like it was still produced.
We can't all afford a comercial antenna, [ who can ] would be nice to have a high gain,
well built, and affordable dual band omni available for amateaurs. Big negative is that this
antenna is NOT d.c. grounded.
