Great for FT-817 Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Using the headset combination with the Yaesu FT-817. Working great with VOX and the micro deliveres plenty of signal to get through the pile-ups HI!

Big bang for the bucks Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
This is a rather cheap headset/mike combination purchased at a local computer store. It has superb communication headphones with a nice crisp sound (yes, metal phone elements!). On top of that, the (condenser) mike is of good sharp sounding quality too. The mic compartiment is reachable via a little screw. Stuff some more "microphone windshield material" in there to get rid of wind pops completely. I was going for the Heil headset, but I'm completely satisfied with this Sennheiser for 1/6 of the price! I use it with my TS570S and TS930 and it works equally well on both. I cut the standard mic plug and mounted an 8 pin connector with a 47K resistor and a small 10nF cap in the mic connector. Every modern TRX has a 8V pin on the chassis mic connector => way you go!
I use it in contests on vox also. Mechanical quality is, well, Sennheiser "made in germany".
You certainly will not need a tube of glue with this one! Finally, it's so light you sometimes forget you're wearing it.
