Simple OK Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Had inverted up a tree at 40' Had the legs down at less than 45 degrees. Did notice if I pulled the ladder line out so It wasn't so vertical in the drop, it reduced the noise floor, Tuned up well on 80-20m, never used higher in Frequency. Had a good HF DV signal into Adelaide on 40m with my 7600.
A great antenna to buy and erect for the time poor

The best multibander there is. Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have this antenna up in the trees at 18m and fully horizontal. It works great on anything between 80m to 6m, but requires a good tuner.
It even works on 160m if you turn it into a Marconi-top-loaded. I have it up for 1.5 years and yet have to meet anything better that is not a beam.
Have no problems working the entire world with just 50W(average).

Today I run an Acom1000 with a Palstar AT2K, the G5RV never let me down.
But I did remove the SO239 connector as it goes bad over time.
Also, don't go cheap on coax, I use Aircel7 of about 30m long, not a single problem at 1.2KW.

And the price is unbeatable, just 50 euro's.

Two remarks:

1) You MUST use a good choke else it won't work and the neighbours will want to kill you.
2) What ever you do, do not tie the twin-line against a pole or put it on the ground, it must stay clear of any objects.

BEST ANTENNA FOR NEW HAMS! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Had mine since I first earned my license 14 years ago and it was a good choice. Stood up to about 5 hurricanes. Flat topped or inverted V, I have talked all over the world with it usually using reduced power of 30 watts. I still get 5/9 reports (or better) on a regular basis.
If you have limited space or don't want an antenna farm, this antenna will fill the bill. On some of the bands it even has gain (3db on 40 meters)! Construct your balun according to the instructions. Use at least 75 feet of 8X with a tuner and you are good to go.
You will have to pay $49.00 for it now. If you bought the wire and parts you couldn't build it for that. Still a bargain!

Good antenna Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Very good antenna have tried many other types of wire antennas this one is my go to antenna.I use a t match tuner with 100 ft of rg8x also wound 8 turn choke at connection.have best results with wires east and west .It is inverted v at 40 ft.As a bonus I have two of these other one is wires north and south.

Impressive for MFJ Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I can't say too much bad about this antenna. The wife gave it to me for my birthday last year in July, I put the put about 44 feet in the center from a 5 outrigged arm on my tower, tied each leg off to a tree (not my favorite spot, but what I have), and anchored the ladder line and coax at the SO239 connector.

I like in Newfoundland, Canada where it's always windy. Looking at the construction of the antenna everything seemed just OK in my opinion, and I figured it would have been blown down in the first wind storm. NOT so... it actually stood up quite well and stayed up for about 4 months. Finally we had 100mph winds one evening and the 2 legs succumbed to the trees rocking back and forth until they snapped. Good thing was where it snapped, was too easy to re-twist the wires back in place and attach with a couple small split bolts.

The functionality was great. I worked over 100 countries on it and got my DXCC in just 4 months and worked 49 states in that time also. What can I say, it works really well.

I have since built one with WA1FFL Laderlocks that is more suitable to the contiditons here on the island, however I have my MFJ G5RV with my go bag and use it all the time out in the field.

For the price you really can't go wrong.

Perfect and Durable Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Had the antenna up for over 10 years without any problem. Then gave it to a friend where it does a perfect service now. It is not important what you feel but what the antenna is. This MFJ antenna works very fine and is resonable priced.

I may have gotten a bad one Time Owned: N.A.
For performance, I would say it stacks up against any G5RV. Anyone familiar with them knows there are pros and cons. I like a G5RV in certain situations. However, I gave this one a 3 because I feel like it is cheaply constructed. I have owned 3 G5RVs. One from Antennas and More, which lasted 10 years. The one I own now from Radio Oasis, which is a very, very solid antenna. The MFJ one isn't really held together very well. With the center supported, it broke where the wire attaches to the center section during the first mild thunderstom. Moderate wind snapped it like it was nothing. I won't buy another after seeing how flimsy the construction is.

Not bad Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Normal antenna. Erected it as Inverted Vee at fiberglass mast. Nothing extraordinary, just cheap way to be active at almost any (apart from 160 m) HF band. Unfortunately the noise level in my house is much too high. Around S9 at 80-meter-band, and S6 at 40 and 20. Combination of MFJ-1788 G5RV and mini-whip RX antenna by PA0RDT helps me to have QSOs with weak stations at these bands. Luckily bands from 17 to 10 meters are noiseless. A multiband vertical antenna would be much more noisy in my conditions, and more expensive as well.

Extremely versatile for the money! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I bought this as a temporary antenna for HF and the plan was to string this up about 25' in the trees in a flat top design while I built a hex beam...

This antenna works great with my TS-440SAT. The auto tuner dials in the SWR great on all bands 80m-10m. I have gotten good contacts and distance with this antenna on 80m, 40m, and 20m I haven't really tried any of the other bands but will update this in the future if I do.

This is a great antenna for getting started affordably in HF if you have the room to mount it.

I will be putting it up at 48' on my tower in the next few days once we raise the tower and it will stay in the flat top design I think. I will update regarding the performance at that height after a little while.
