Waste of money.			Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Bit of a joke this one, the so called filter is just a 47mf capacitor accross the speaker & is switched in and out by a push button. Do yourself a favour, buy a good speaker at half the price and put a capacitor accross it yourself. Better still buy a DSP speaker like the BHI models.

I purchased the SP-4 external speaker with noise filter to help get the most out of my fantastic FT-100D. Having used the speaker for about 1 week, I can say it does enhance the voices and even music I receive on the airways. Due to the way I have my rig's mounted, the audio from the top mounted speaker on the FT-100D was being suppressed by the shelf above. Also mounted internaly in the SP-4 is a noise filter, which does work, but only on some type of noises.
