Description:
The Swan 1200-Z is a linear R.F. Power amplifier intended for use in the Amateur Radio Service. It is capable of PEP voice input power of 1 kilowatt or 600 watts CW, when driven by transmitters or tranceivers producing a minimum output power of 100 watts.
The 1200-Z is a multiband unit operating on 80, 40, 20 and 15 meters. It has a self contained power supply, cathode current and relative power metering circuits and by pass provisions to permit the antenna to be driven directly by the associated tramsmitter (exciter) without the amplification of the 1200-Z or the necessity to disconnect it from the antenna system. Its power transformer has a split promary winding that may be internally connected for 110-120 or 220-240 VAC operation. The unit features four 6MJ6 pentodes in a grounded-grid amplifier and the ability to operate into a wide range of antenna impedence.

best is last Time Owned: more than 12 months.
It's a really nice amp, not too many around. I have 3 of them and plan to keep them all. One of the best features is the tuned input. This allows it to be easily run with the newer solid state radios, A big improvment over the 1200x series.
