I bought one of these radios new back in 1980's. Main complaint was poor frequency stability and drift

Good RX on a par with IC-202 and Mizuho SB-2X Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This is a seldom seen SSB/CW portable/mobile transceiver. Why is it portable/mobile? Because, it is basically a portable unit with built in antenna but it is provided with a mobile mounting bracket for car operation.

Made in the 70s to 80 by Totsuko Corporation, Tokyo, Japan. It has 20 transistors, 7 fets, 2 ICs, 43 diodes and 3 led. The frequency of SSB/CW opeartion by use of VXO is from 144.00 to 144.4 (installed range), but has the capability for 144.00 to 145.00MHz. Capacity for 1 fixed channel also.

Standard power supply operation by 13.8V DC, with operating range from 11.5 to 15V DC. Dimensions are 147mm w x 58mm h x 198mm d. Weight is 2.3Kgs. inclusive of microphone. It can support portable operation at lower power by use of batteries, 10 pcs. of NiCd.

Standard accessories with original transceiver included - Shoulder strap, microphone, dc power cord, dummy battery, mic hanger, mobile mounting bracket. Optional accessories were a leather case for portable use.

On lower power the input is 3 w and output is 1 w pep. On high power the input power is 20 w and output is 10 w pep.

RX is single superheterodyne with S/N more than 15dB at input of .5uV. IF frequency is 9MHz and Image ratio is more then 60dB. Selectivity is less than 4.8KHz at -60dB and Pass band width is 2.4KHz at -6dB.

Front panel controls include RIT, RF gain, power volume, whip antenna, band selector step buttons FIX/VXO selector button, VXO tuning knob, mic jack and earphone socket.

Rear panel features external 50M anteena socket, external power supply socket, power output selector and CW key jack. There is also a selector for the light and SSB selector plus Noise Blanker.

The RX is excellent and the best way to describe it is a IC-202 or a Mizuho SB-2X on Steroids.

Good bit of vintage kit, get one if you can!
