Great gear Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Picked this up at a hamfest years ago. I use this on more than one rig, it works wonders on killing the horrible QRM that I suffer with locally.

Well worth picking up as used. While not quite as good as the ADSP2 in my SG-2020, it comes pretty close.

Doesn't ring on CW.

Great and simple. Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have owned NF-60 notch, NRF-7, and NIR-12. I agree that this is the best match to my TS-850. Use it mostly for auto notch function. The audio response for NRF-7 is wide like the NIR-12 (3400 Hz), so it doesn't restrict the nice audio of the 850 as much as the NF-60 (2700 Hz). I didn't like the processed sound of the noise reduction in the NIR-12, so used it only as a notch, and it was too expensive for that. Don't use the bandwidth filtering on the NRF-7 very often because the double-sided slope tuning on the 850 works so well. But they work great on the NRF-7. This one is just right.

Better than it's WEIGHT in gold. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Just got one today from a new found friend. After hearing what I expected an outboard filter to do, he said this was the best one for my situation...Boy was he ever right..Hooked up to a TS-850SAT Kenwood, this unit is unbelieveable!
Still can't understand why the Company went out of business making such a fine product..
All in all a fine addition to a non DSP rig, also greatly reduces annoying hetrodynes too!
This is a very positive statement coming from a person who really does not like the "sound that is usually apparent on DSP altered audio"
Tell ya what, if you've got one in mint shape and want to sell for a fair market value..E mail me 'cause I'm looking for another for the mobile.
Buddy.

easy and effective Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Although a good many DSP units are currently offered, most require some study and practice to achieve good results. For the folks that just want to plug and play the NRF-7 should fill the bill very nicely. Currently available only on e-bay, or classified listings, it goes for $65-$80 and is an excellent value. Three cw settings are available at the turn of the main knob, likewise 2 ssb filters and a digital-mode filter. Ringing is not a problem except for the very narrowest setting. All in all, a good quality, useful adjunct to any station but especially for the dedicated cw operator.
