Excellent for the IC-7300.. Time Owned: more than 12 months.
The very best audio available for the 7300..

good mike Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have two of these...one for the 7300 and one for the 7610...my hm-10's did not enough output to drive these two radios.

Great mic, hands free with boom! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have been using the Heil iCM with my IC-7300 for a little over two years. Audio reports have been excellent and unsolicited.

The supplied hand mic had very good audio, but hands free operation with this mic on a boom (I use a foot switch) freed up desk space and added the convenience of hands-free operation.

This mic and the 7300 are a wonderful combination.

Excellent mic for the ICOM 7300 Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This is my first Heil mic. I have been very happy with the performance of the ICOM SM-8 (no longer in production), but I wanted to try a boom mic, so I got this one. I must say, I am very pleased with it. It is a good value for the price, and the sound quality is excellent. It has enough output to match the rig, and it works well. It seems to have a little more bass response than the SM-8. If not wanted, you can adjust this in the TX settings in your transceiver. When I run it directly with the 7300, I set the TX audio treble to +2 and bass to 0. I run the 7300 compressor between 1 and 5 depending on what I am doing. I recommend always using the ICOM compressor unless using an external unit. Recently I acquired a UR6QW EQ V.5 and this mic also works very well with that.

Excellent Time Owned: more than 12 months.
EDIT: The microphone works well, no complaints. But since I've had it, and had plenty of time to compare this with the HM-219 stock mic. This mic is an improvement over the stock mic (slightly better lows and highs), but honestly, not by much. The stock mic as many have pointed out is a tough customer to beat. I like the mic and use it as a boom mic. But, if space is tight or you're on a budget, use the stock mic. It works well...

Heil ICm with IC-7300 - Simply Superb! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Finally pulled the trigger on a desk mic for the ICom 7300. The Heil ICm matches superbly and is specifically designed for ICom radios and drives the radio very well. I also purchased the Heil-FS3 PTT footswitch and a knockoff desk boom stand.

I was originally hesitant on moving away from the stock mic because of its great audio sound but after 3 months of research, testing and deliberation, I concluded that the HEil ICm was the best bang for the buck and fit for me.

After installation, I immediately received exceptional reports from all contacts made. Local operators also commented on the "broadcast" quality sound I was achieving. One distant operator recorded our QSO and sent it to me.... WOW it sounded great!

7300 Settings:
Mic Gain = 30
Compression = 2
Bass = 0
Treble = 2

Would definitely do this purchase over again. A SUPERB match for the IC-7300.

UPDATE:

** Owned for almost 4 years... tested dynamic MICS directly through the front end.. had to crank up gain & compression to drive ALC. If your going to run PR40's 781's etc... and want to get the most out of them you need a pre-amp / and or Mixer to gain the benefit otherwise not worth it in my opinion. **

Great at getting through pile-ups Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I recently bought a Heil iCM microphone to go with my IC-7300(fan dipole in my attic running barefoot). I have to tell you, it helps me get through the pile-ups. It is truly amazing!!! I get right through. On our local club 10 meter net last night one guy said that I was S-0, but sounded like I was right next to him. Tonight I got right through a huge pile-up with the Azores. Follow Bob's settings and you will not be disappointed.

A Must for icom 7300 Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I had lots Radios and Microphones and Heil mics .I just got 7300 and ICM perfect match .Im getting Audio reports of Loud and Clear Crisp sounding -
My setting mic gain 35 Comp 2 ,TX Bass -1,Treble 0 ,TBW Wide.
Please Don’t push for icom 7300 Mic gain set as Heil says never more 2 Comp .To many people end up sounding like CBer Trucker on I95 breaker breaker 19

A Must have for the 7300 Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This is a must have mic for the IC-7300. Beautiful transmit audio using this mic. No more trouble with low output mics not tripping the vox correctly such as the trouble I had with the Heil PR40. This mic rocks on the 7300 for sure. Glad I made the purchase!

Perfect for the IC-9700 Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
The iCM worked great right out of the box and looks very good with the radio. After a few minor adjustments to the radio, I received excellent audio reports both FM and USB. I've used the Goldline microphone for years with a Kenwood TS-2000 and compared to the iCM works just as good if not better. I'm very satisfied with this microphone and highly recommend for the IC-9700 and IC-7300.
