Recommendable! Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
This Amp delivers full 160 Watt with 25 Watts in and abt. 100 Watt with 15 Watt in. The RX-Amp produces the lowest noise I ever heard from a PA-internal RX-Amp. In comparison to other products in this class this PA is big, so I don“t need active cooling. Great Amp!

Very good 2M Amp Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I've had mine for a few years...I've got the 160V25 and have had no problems with it. Solid, no harmonic related interference, even the TV likes it. With attic antennas, clean output is the most important thing for me. The FT736R drives it to around 120-130 W out. Bottom line? If you need a solid state 2M amp, try to find one of these.

bought a newer version Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
yes i bought the newer version HL-160-V-25
and wow i will say it's rather large any heavy for a 160 watt amp. and it does put out one nice signal indeed. but what really surprised me was i thought the pre amp was dead. when i turned the preamp on i expected the normal you know noise and signal to jump. making the preamp really just a farce. but nope noise didnt jump at all.

Hmm whats this it dont work i thought. well i tuned in the weakest beacon i could find flip the preamp for giggles. and wow it really did work signal jumped from no reading to s-3 i was amazed by this no noise just signal.

well in ending my comment on this only bad thing i think i can say this unit is awfully big and heavy for mounting mobile.

and good things are great small base amp very well built. dont get hot. and really performs better than expected. both in output and input.

well worth every dime i spent for this amp. i highly recomend this amp to any one wanting a amp of this class.

of finally i will add i was wanting a TE SYTEMS amp i called them asked for there mailing to show me what was availible after 2 months still never got any response. hell if the cant send out the sales catalog you think i trust them for service,

buy the tokyo hi power youll be very happy. jeff/n3jbh

good thing Time Owned: more than 12 months.
It is a good amplifier for daily work
and to take it with you in a car.
And if you take two off them with a splitter and
combiner use them with 14.4 Volts near limit,
put 25 to 30 Watts in, then you will have 300 to 320 Watts out and with a good antenna and JT44 EME is possible.

great little amp Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I HAVE ONE OF THESE AMPS I GOT IT FROM COM CENTRE
HERE IN NEW ZEALAND IT RUNS VERY WELL I AM DRIVING IT WITH 10 WATTS IN ON A ICOM 260A 2 METER
RIG THATS ALL I HAVE 10 WATTS GIVES ME 100 WATTS OUT BUT IF YOU DRIVE IT WITH 25 WATTS YOU WILL GET 160 WATTS OUT ITS A NICE SMALL SIZE SO IT CAN FIT JUST ABOUT ANYWHERE
