10 Years with good performance			Time Owned: more than 12 months.
After I have diminished the aerial the last week after 10 years I would like to deliver a final report. The aerial has shown, up to the missing ceramic insulators for the 30m-band, no problems at all. No corrosion has appeared and the plastic ropes would have held absolutely still some years. It is really a good aerial and can show the advantages to cover all 7 amateur tapes of course best of all when it is built up very high above ground. So, after 10 years it is still rating 5/5 ! ---------------------- Earlier 5-star review posted by DL1GLH on 2004-01-20 The DLP18 is a fine antenna and works great once it’s assembled right. It is delivered as a puzzle of a few hundred eaces. The assembly instructions were full of errors. Most of them should be corrected now (after several telephone contacts and a personal meeting at HAMRADIO in Friedrichshafen). It’s in use for more than 2 years now. I put the antenna at 26m above ground to make use of all bands. At this height the best thing is that you get all bands from 10m through 40m radiating with low elevation angle best for DX. Mechanical construction is OK with respect to wind-survival, no problems so far. At the 30 meter element the rope burned down once and the dipole dropped to earth. I had to repair this by placing egg-type isolators. If you assemble it once, put it up there and leave it, it might deserve a rating of 5.
