Excellent Mic Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I' use the GM4 from 2 Years.
In the First time I Use an Icom Ic-746 with Behrinher VX-2496 and the GM4, and the Audio was very good, with an excellent modulation.
Then I change RTX and add other Behringer modules and now i Use this:

GM4-->VX2496-->DEQ2496-->HomeBrew IBox-->Icom Ic-756 ProIII and Kenwood Ts-2000.

With the Ultravoice Digital VX-2496 + Ultracurve PRO DEQ-2496 the GM4 works very fantastic and I have a Very High Quality Audio.

Great Mic! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I purchased this mic at the suggestion of a much more experienced ham. I couldn't be more happy with the results. I've started getting unsolicited complements on my audio on both SSB and FM. Also, it is a truly beautiful piece of kit. It's a shame to put the black foam windscreen on it, covering up the shiny gold head.

Heil GM-4 AMAZING Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I recently purchased a GM-4 and foot switch to go with my Kenwood TS-2000 to replace the stock mic. All I can say is AMAZING. Without asking people tell me that the audio quality is great. Prior to getting my GM-4 I could call for hours in pile ups and never get a contact. Now I usually get that contact with in 5 calls. I can't say anything bad about the mic. My 11 year old even walked in my shack and said, "dude, thats a sweet bling bling pimp mic!" Hi Hi. 73 and happy dx! Thomas N7BFK

Gets me Heard! Time Owned: N.A.
You may have seen my other reviews of Heil Mics and yes, I do own quite a few of their products. I am limited by CC&Rs and need every edge I can find. I got the GM-4 with the DX Dream element in it and it does help a lot to make me heard in pile ups. In fact, a few hams overseas have commented about how wonderful it was that they could hear me over the amplified shouting of the other hams considering I am using a random wire in my attic. I am not fond of the wide element as it is not a good match for my voice but I have another mic for that (PR 780) and limit the GM4 to SSB DX work where it excels. I have played with my rig's settings and got it to sound pretty good but that involves changing all of my settings every time I want to use it for rag chewing. In fact, I need to test it out further as a few hams have said I sound distorted when I use the wide setting. I never paid much attention as I usually have it set to the DX element but on a few occassions a local popped in on FM and I used the GM4 to talk to them. I briefly tested last night on SSB and I sounded a little off. Since it was very late, I ended my testing and will resume tonight. Perhaps I have a bad element for the wide setting.

Flick of switch clicks & picks width quick - slick! Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
The dual-element Heil GM-4 compliments my Kenwood TS - 2000 as no other microphone has ever. The GM-4 makes the transition from FM wide to a perfectly tailored SSB narrow via a toggle switch atop its gorgeous silver and gold body.

Combining the GM-4 with the W2IHY EQplus as I do continually produces superior non-solicited modulation reports on both HF and FM.

And the price? At under $200 (as of this writing) - a STEAL!

GREAT Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I am on my second Heil Goldline with the HC5 insert. I was stupid enough, in a moment of weakness to let my original mic go to a friend of mine who is still using with excellent results (ZS4U). I have used the GM5 on my TS930SAT, FT920 and FT1000D and compared it to the MD100 and Sure 444. Nothing beats the Goldline. I receive excellent, unsolicited audio reports and the support and advise I received from Heil when ordering my second mic was fantastic when compared with the generally poor customer service we get from most dealers here in South Africa......thanks a lot guys. 73 John (ZS4S ... ex ZS6AN)

I am very pleased with this type of setup. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I am using the Heil Goldline microphone with HC-4 cartridge. on a Kenwood TS-570S. And a Kenwood TS-790S The reports I have received with this microphone are as good as my Kenwood MC-60A and every report without exception, say my audio is as good as it gets. Clean audio no distortion of any kind. I also have the Heil FS-2 Foot Switch with a older stile boom not the topless but close. My only concern is the connection for the foot switch. Heil Probably should have put about a inch of shrink tubing at the connector so there is no stress on the small wire at the point it enters the connector. I used about 2 raps of good electoral tape and do not expect any issues. I am very pleased with this type of setup
