The Best!!!! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I purchased my first Heil Goldline with the HC-4 Element this week. I ordered the 2nd one the next day for my other radio. This is the BEST Mic that I have ever used, bar none. I'm using the mics with the KW 870S and the 570S(G) rigs. Nothing I have ever used even comes close to the audio quality of this mic. The very 1st QSO that I had with a friend on 75 mtrs, asked what I had added to my station. He could not get over the quality of my audio!

Superior Audio! Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Great looking and a contender for more expensive microphones. Why pay $300.00 or more when you can get the same results with this one! It doesn't make sense! I bought the shock mount and boom for this baby, and it looks fantastic in the shack! I placed an eight-band W2IHY equalizer inline and use an ICOM 756PRO II with the goldline. Nothing but positive comments...full rich audio with unsurpassed presence! This baby would compliment any rig! Whether ragchewing or DXing, this is the microphone to use, you won't be disaggpointed!

Great Audio! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I purchased my Heil Goldline at Dayton 2000. I was a little nervouse about spending that much on a microphone. I had heard a few people on 80 meters using them and I was hooked at how well it sounded.
Since I have hooked it up, it is very rare that someone doesn't tell me my audio sounds great. I have had people break in and ask me what I am using. The only time I don't get a good audio report is if I am in DX mode trying to reach some DX.

I recommend the goldline to anyone that wants great sounding audio. Guess it is time I get the new PRO headset!

Great microphone Time Owned: more than 12 months.
My callsign is in the credits section of the owners manual... thats how much I like it! If you run a 1000MP, it is a great combo as long as you follow my instructions in the manual. Do not let anyone else tell you that it will not work with the MP...its not true, listen to me sometime on 17. The support that you get from Bob is second to none. period.

Exceptional Mic Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I bought this mic based on my experience with the heil pro headset. It is connected to the Yaesu FT1000mp. I constantly get unsolicited rave audio reports. What I really like is the microphone plugs right into the back of the Yaesu MD-100 stand so I don't lose any of the stands functionality.

Great Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
The Gold Line sounds great on my 756 Pro. Never a bad audio report.

I picked this up at Bob's shop and there is no smell. Perhaps the new ones have no smell.

Thanks Bob for a GREAT product.

Excellant Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Have been using the Goldline for about a month. Matches my voice perfectlly on a 756-Pro. Thanks Mr. Bob. The smell. Well that may make this mike famous.

What smell? Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I only notice a slight smell (like a campfire in a dentist's office - LOL). Even then, I have to put
my nose right on it and sniff - not something I regularly do. Otherwise, I am extremley happy
with my Goldline. I have the cantilever boom (LX-1) and the shock mount (SM-1). The combination of these items just can't be beat. My rig is a Kenwood TS2000X and the Heil
mic drives it perfectly. I use the narrow setting for SSB contacts and the wide setting for FM and AM contacts. I get a lot of unsolicited audio comments, especially on 2 meter FM. On 10 meter SSB pileups (like working ER4DX) I switch to narrow, turn on my processor and BAM!
I get through on the first call. God I love this mic!

Caution!.............. Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
........... Be prepared to always be thanking someone for their compliments on your audio! It's amazing sound quality has no equal that I know of. I'm using the GM-4 model on the wide setting, and when you speak, people listen. 'Nuff said.

Outstanding Microphone! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I purchased the Goldline GM-4 from a ham who got it as a Kenwood promo and it is new as of Sept '01. First of all, there is no detectable smell in my mic. My guess is that Heil has resolved that problem.
I'm absolutely thrilled with the mic's performance in all aspects and am getting lots of unsolicited comments about the audio quality from domestic and DX stations. I'm using the Studio element about 99% of the time and only use the HC-4 when necessary to "bust" a pileup, but have busted a quite a few without it. I run 100 watts from a Yaesu 1000MP and I've found the following menu settings to be optimal:
4-4 - 3
5-9 - 6.0 Khz (t-fil)
7-7 - 1-- - 3100 (SSB-t)
8-9 - t-Lsbcar -200
- ProcLSB + .040
- t-Usbcar -200
- ProcUSB + .040

I highly recommend this microphone!!
