Very Good Mic Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have used this mic with many rigs and I believe it has been over a 10 year span or more. (whenever it first came out anyway!) I have used it with Rice Boxes, SDR's and Tube transmitters. With a SDR rig, there is no need for any enhanced outboard EQ of any kind.
It has a very Bright Tone with Very Good Nature Lows.

I have several Mics.
SM7B, RE20, Sennheiser MD 421 II.

It seems that I get more unsolicited reports using the V77. This is a Condenser mic where the others are Dynamic. It seems to me that I usually can set up a Condenser mic to sound very good easier then a Dynamic mic. The other mics that I have mentioned are very good mics, its just I like the V77 better. I do understand the history of the RE-20, so there may be others who disagree with my comparison. But with what I have said has been my experience. I would recommend the MXL V77 by Marshall

Nice Mic Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Great mic for the price (around $300.00 new with dedicated power supply, shockmount and windscreen)great 20 - 20k response, very quiet and virtually noise free, thanks to vacuum tube pre-amp.About the only flaw I can find is is doen't have a bass roll-off switch (and I only say this because my TS-950 SDX tends to be naturally bottom heavy),but seems to be OK with my TS-870,so it's a very minor flaw. Can't go wrong for the price.
