Excellent bit of gear Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Bought it from R&L to replace a REALLY inexpensive switcher (PSV-200). No problems with the Pyramid, but I wanted a solid, regulated power supply, and this one fills the bill. Cool, quiet, dependable and looks serious on the bench.

If I were to discount the rating, I'd agree with the notion that the outputs belong on the back - BUT, that's not nearly a serious enough flaw to reduce a top grade.

This one's a keeper.

Wish they still made it Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Not a lick of trouble, runs my HF rig, VHF amp, qrp rig, no problems. I still don't believe switchers can be super quiet and prefer a linear power supply.

Workhorse Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I own 2 of these and both have never given me a lick of trouble. Bought them used at a hamfest. Best buy I ever made. Quiet fan and just keeps working. One powers a FT-897 and the other a FT-900AT. No birdies, no problems.

Excellent Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I bought mine used about 6 months ago and it's been in daily service since. Fan is quiet, no birdies anywhere, and it runs cool. I run an HF rig, an old Kenwood 2 meter all mode rig, a clearspeech, and a small computer fan to augment the fan in my amp. Never a hickup.

Takes a Lickin' n Keeps on Tickin'... Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I jest gotta Add my Two-Cents worth since I have been using this Alinco DM-340MV CONTINUOUSLY "ON" for THREE Years except for local power outtages and extended trips away from the shack without a single Burp... now thatz Reliability... and itz Gud Lookin' too! First the Negatives: Output Power Access ONLY on Front makes for messy wires - Non-standard Sizing makes for tricky placement in shack... Picky picky. Now for the POSITIVES: Very Quiet fan cooling - Nice DUAL Metering of Volts/Amps - VARIABLE Voltage on Front Panel to make up for Line Loss to rigs to Insure Proper INPUT Voltages - Front Panel Fuse Holder for Easy Checking - Of course, since it is Conventional Transformer Design, there is NO NOISE coming from the supply - Did I say it's Good Looking too. Although I prefer Rear Output, this unit is awarded a deserved WV4R FIVE-Star Rating because it Does take a licking and keeps on ticking. 73 es God bless, murf.

Outstanding power supply Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
This is one very solid power supply. Good looking, quiet - electrically and mechanically, and well build. Huge transformer, 4 power transistors (each one rated at 15A - capable of 60A total current, although you can draw 30A continuous and 35A peak due to the overall design specifications). For what they are going for now (under $100), those power supplies are a bargain. The regulation is smooth - 0.00 to 15+ volts - if you need a voltage output of 0.65V for instance, you can dial it with no problem (more acurate DMM is needed)!
Took me an hour, 4 yellow ultra-bright LEDs, 4 resistors, a piece of wire, and a hot glue gun to add lighting to the volt and the amp meters - schematics of the power supply are available on the Alinco's web site.
I have 2 radios and some other equipment connected to it and it works very well for me.
The temperature controlled fan rarely kicks in.
This supply is going to stay in my shack! (I own a DM-330MV - another fine power supply from alinco which i use now for portable operation)

Rock solid performer! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Bought this beauty over three years ago. Hooked cables to it and stuffed it in the corner ( with some breathing room ) under the operating desk. The only way I know it's there is that all the rigs keep working fine ( currently have a FT-100D, FT-1500 and all kinds of gadgets hooked to it 24/7 ). No complaints!

Excelente Time Owned: more than 12 months.

Real Workhorse! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I've been using the switching power supplies until purchasing the DM-340MVT for the IC-756 PRO. This is my first linear power supply. I did not realize how may birdies even the higher rated switcher power supplies generated. The DM-340 MVT is very well constructed, the fan is very quite and you do not even know for the most part that it is running. It's a real workhorse. I've had no problems with it. It is substantially built and I feel that for the price you get much more for your money than any other brand of power supply. If your looking for top quality power supply with a few extra amps to spare, this 35 AMP supply will probably exceed your expectation.

Excellent Power Supply Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I've been using the initial offering of this power supply for several years. It's a beauty. I've had no problems with it. It is substantially built and I feel that for the price Alinco changes you get much more for your money than any other brand of power supply. Shame they are pulling out of North America with their equipment. It is mostly very well built and functions well.
