Honey For Your Ears Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
What a great sounding speaker! Smooth response, with reduced hiss. Makes extended listening much easier on the ears. Fast shipping/delivery. I am very happy with it. You will need some space for it, as it is not tiny. I will probably buy another one for use with my NCS-3230 Multi-Rx.

Best Radio Speaker I Have Ever Heard Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
The speaker has allready been described at lenth in the many reviews allready posted. I read almost every one of them before I bought this speaker. I figured, hey....you only live once, so I ordered one.
Well, it is a bit tough to accurately describe sound, with the written word.. Kind of like trying to describe how a bananna tastes. You really have to experience it for yourself because all the words in the world are inadequate. Here is my best shot:

The speaker has a nice deep "full" sound, to it.
Kind of reminds me of the old wooden console radios in the pre-television days. I attribute this to the cabinetry and dimensions of the speaker as well as the electrical properties of the actual emmiting cone. The speaker sounds mellow and well....luxurious. Of course, you still hear the background radio noise and Qrn but the speaker takes the bite out of the noise. All that noise eventually fatigues the brain and tires you. This speaker lessens the strain on your ears and makes for a much more relaxing and enjoyable listening experience.
After having listened for a few hours, I switched back to by previous speaker which I have used for a long time and had been reasonably happy with.
Wow!! What a diffrence. My old speaker's sound was now actually annoying to listen to. That little test really demonstrated what this speaker was doing.
The speaker is also built extremely well. Rock solid. I think I could stand on top of it without hurting it.
Why does a Strativarius violin sell for $1,000,000+ ? For the unequalled sound, of course. You have to pay for quality. At the price of $99.00, this speaker is a good deal. The Strativarius of Ham speakers, in my view.
In summary, 3 points of philosophy: 1. Get a good bed.....you spend 1/3 of your life in it. 2. Get a good pair of shoes......don't need to say more about that. 3. Get the best speaker you can......you spend hundreds of hours each year listening

Wow! Amazing Fidelity out of my Ham Radio! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
My ears had gotten to the point where they were ready to revolt at the harsh sounds coming out of all my rigs. Didn't matter what rig it was, their built-in speakers just didn't cut the mustard. So, I would go out and spend gobs of money on the flimsy, matching external speakers that the manufacturers sold only to be disappointed time and time again. Then, I heard about Sounds Sweet.

I have to say that, because of my skepticism, I put off ordering one for quite some time. I just couldn't believe that a $99 speaker could make any difference in the harsh sounds that were coming out of my radios. So, I kept on reading about how great this speaker was and how it had impressed a lot of other hams. So a few weeks ago, I bit the bullet and decided to risk $99 on one.

WOW! WHAT A DIFFERENCE! What a difference it makes in the sound coming out of my HF transceivers, especially my IC-781! What a difference it makes in my ears and my "staying power!" What a difference in my sanity! I have to say that I am very, very pleased with this fine product and would recommend it to any ham out there. No, it might not "match" your rig, but your ears will breathe a sigh of relief and say, "Thank You!"

nice Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I've had mine for about six months. It doesn't replace a good set of headphones for pulling weak signals out of the mud, but can't be beat for hours of general listening.

Great Speaker, BUT...... Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
A very heavy, well constructed piece of equipment. A very nice 'pleasant' sound. Makes CW a joy to copy. BUT the nice pleasant sound of this speaker does have a drawback - for me! I am hearing impaired. Totally deaf in my left ear and 20 to 25% hearing loss in my right ear. Although this speaker sounds great, SSB callsigns, etc are very hard for me to pull out and understand. This is why I work mostly cw. I got a MFJ-281 to try. It 'pops' those callsigns out for me better on SSB than the Sounds Sweet! If I was not hearing impaired, I am sure that the MFJ could not even come close to comparing with this fine speaker - which now is hooked to my Uniden scanner. Just thought I would pass this along for our friends with unique hearing situations. If I was building the Sounds Sweet, the only thing I would change is the speaker connectors. I would go with a phono plug or something that would allow connection with a standard shielded phono cable, rather than the little springy wire clips.

Great! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I got my speaker for Christmas and upon opening it up, 2 or 3 joints was lacking some filler. Paul stated "we don't want any unsatisfied customers" so he is sending me a hand picked one and I'm to send this one back. SS is icking up the UPS costs. You can't beat that kind of service. BTW, the speaker sounds as great as others has stated. I recommend this company above all others.

Impressed Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
This speaker is amazing. I was also sceptical of the reviews. It made my icom 706 sound great. Right now it is hooked up to my Drake R8A shortwave reciever. My girlfriend can now sit in the same room while I'm surfing the bands. It does a great job of mellowing the sounds without losing the clarity. Now if these guys can make a mobile speaker I would have the best in both worlds.

The BEST Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
The name says it all folks'. OUTSTANDING SSB clarity with my 706MKIIG base. For 4 years, I ran what I thought was a good speaker with my rig. Then I purchased a S.S. speaker, and I determined that it simply BLOWS AWAY any ham radio speaker on the market. Get one folks!

Amazing! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Bought mine a week or so ago and MAN! What a difference in audio quality!
I run all of my radios through a mixing board and am able to tweak the audio for each channel so it sounds just right.
This speaker is absolutely the best investment I've made, especially for SSB work. No fatigue and much more pleasurable to listen to. This thing really cuts out the hiss and heterodyne of sideband and allows you to hear the desirable signals.

An awesome product at TWICE the price!
