Wonderful power supply Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have had my 4035MV for almost 4 years now. That and the 4225MV (25 amp supply) to power my Kenwood TS480HX. I keep them on shelves on the side of my desk,I close the door to the shelves and its keeps everything neat and out of sight. There is NO noise to speak of, and the multiple power hook ups is nifty also, especially if I need to bench test a piece of equipment or to add another rig to the line up. Also the indent is right on the money at 13.8 volts. No gripes here about MFJ's equipment, and I own a bunch of it.

still using it Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have had this thing many years. The fan
control board failed maybe 5 years back.
When the fan would come on it came on full
blast and noisy. I was still using it when
I noticed the fan had died but the supply was
still operating ok. I ended up scraping the
fan control board and simply putting a 2 watt
resistor in series with the fan from the 13.8V
regulated output so that the fan now runs all
the time at a moderate speed that is quiet.
Don't ask me the value as I can't remember and I
don't want to open it up to find out.

Good News..........sort of Time Owned: N.A.
Well, the fan groaned to a halt. MFJ Tech Dept. sent me a new fan and control board. Under warrenty still, but did not want to waste bucks on shipping.

I put both in and the fan now is quieter and varies in speed much better as the load increases. Fan is almost same model but a little deeper. Can hardly tell fan is on in rcve now.
Repair was not too bad. What a HEAT SINK on this gadget. Very impressive. Interlaced cooling fins inside heat sink where air flows.

A small wattage Weller Solder station really helped with changing the wires over to new pc board.
Try not to scratch the cabinet while removing the many screws. It becomes a little flimsy once the top is remove also. Very hefty supply.

Just bought the supply a few days ago. On air now for two days. Very noisey fan. Been wanting one for two years now. Mostly solar powered here for many years. Bought IC-756Pro (used ) and rig eats too much juice on rcve. So I thought I will now get the MFJ supply. :(
Called MFJ about the noise and they stated it was designed that way........
Has anyone tried to replace the fan? Its either going under desk, outside or back to dealer.
The fan does stay on all the time. Speeds up when transmitting. Seems to work FB. No hum from that large transformer. Meters work OK.
The Noise very distracting on the desk trying to keep my CW skeds. I would have to use fones all the time with this supply.

garbage Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
this power supply is pure filth, scum of the earth, poorly assembled, dangerous, mine caught fire when less than one year old, mfj offered to "REPAIR" it when i requested a full refund, no sale here, i will not have one single piece of mfj garbage in my home ever again !

All around good power supply Time Owned: more than 12 months.
When my shack was grid powered, I used the 4035-MV with great success. The fan did a great job of keeping the unit cool, even at idle. I noticed no noise from the fan, as I had the unit mounted on the floor under my operating counter. The output was dead-on 13.8V at the detent, cold or warm, and the output was squeaky clean, with no hum or hash.

My only reason for discontinuing its use: my shack is now totally powered by the sun and wind.

Very Good Value Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I've used my MFJ-4035MV more than 2 years. It's always worked fine. Very good value! Fan is VERY quiet. Its weight is a plus; it stays put.

Noisy, Noisy, Noisy Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Summary: Annoying audible hum. Very loud cooling fan.

In MFJ's advertisement, they have the nerve to say this thing has a "whisper quiet" fan. I am really surprised by how loud this fan actually is. Luckily, it's not on during RX.

There is also an audible hum that is a little louder than I expected. I would have given this product a 3 if it were not for the misleading advertising. Now I have to either live with this thing or go through the trouble of shipping this heavy piece of equipment back to the dealer.

The voltage is 13.9v when cold, 13.7 when warm. The center position of the voltage adjustment is not set to 13.8v exactly.

If noise is not an issue for you, it would seem to be a decent value. If noise is an issue, don't buy it.

Its Good, but.... Time Owned: more than 12 months.
As mentioned, the fan is a bit noisy when its on and the supply does get warm if it just idles for a couple of hours. Hitting the xmt on the rig turns the fan back on and cools it down quickly though. The meters and voltage are spot on. Yes its heavy, cause its got one of them big massive transformer thingee's in it. :))

Good Supply Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
My only complaint is that the fan is too loud. Other than that it operates FB.

Ok Supply Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I bought one to use with my FT-847/IC-735 and other VHF radio's. I bought it because the last switching supply I had, had hash on 20 and 17 meters.
Unlike the other review, my fan stays on all the time and it can get annoying at times(why I didn't give it a 5). It is a heavy one for sure, but it is seems to be doing the job with no trouble at all
