Solid Program - Great Support Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have to disagree with WR1H's comments. I converted from DX-Base when I was looking for a Windows-based program about 5 years ago. DX-Base was still DOS-only. DX-Base tried to recover, but their first attempt at a Windows interface was an utter failure.

DX4Win is a mature product that continues to grow, yet has remained focused on the "serious and casual DXer". The authors provide exceptional support and there is an active email reflector as another avenue for support.

If you're new to computer logging or a seasoned veteran, you can't go wrong with DX4Win.

Fantastic program, outstanding support Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
DX4WIN is fantastic! They provide outstanding support via user e-mail reflector or direct by telephone. It's worth every penny, especially when you consider the level of support that they provide. They are willing to spend as much time as it takes to walk you through any difficulties you may encounter. (The difficulty is always with the user, not the software!)

I've been using it for almost one year and I highly recommend it.

Good for neophites ~ Try DXbase if you mean it ! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
If your new to computer loging DX4win may be good enough for you. Its easy and gets the job done. If you want something that will last and grow with you, try DXbase. I have tried almost all of the logging software out there. DXbase leaves DX4win in the dust. Don't get me wrong, DX4win is solid and works well, and if DXbase wasn't around it would probably be the best out there. Unfortunately that is not the case. Try both demos and decided for yourself.

Just see for yourself! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
As a newly licensed ham, I was looking for a good logging software for Windows. I tried some freeware programs, all of them worked just fine. But none of them offered what DX4WIN had to offer: no DOS-box, 32bit technology, flexible user interface...

DX4WIN gave me the opportunity to download a full working demo (except for saving the log). It soon became clear that DX4WIN offers a lot of functions, most of them still to be discoverd by yours truly. It took me only a couple of minutes to figure out how it works and to get started, and now I am exploring some other functions.

It must also be noted that, with the DX4WIN-emailreflector, 24/7 online support is available from experienced users all over the world. I posted my first question yesterday, and within 6 hours I received over 10 answers, all giving me the right solution to the problem.

Finally, I must admit that I hesitated between a freeware loggingsoft at no charge (every $ counts when building up your first station) with less options, and the approx. 90US$ DX4WIN. Well, I got a license and have never regretted the expense ever since.

Looking for a good loggingsoft? DX4WIN is the way to go!

Super Program, Super support Time Owned: unknown months.
DX4WIN does everything you could ask for in a logging program. And can save a QSO with a single command. Reading the well written instructions saves a lot of "cockpit errors".

Super support....never had a question that remained unanswered. I even screwed up a contest file which these guys reformatted and sent back to me...Gratis and with a smile.

These guys are terrific. Join the DX4WIN reflector and see for yourself.

Have been using DX4WIN for over a year. It has done everything I expected and more. User friendly and the support is outstanding! Very responsive and will stick with you to work through any and all difficulties. Fun to use and is a valuable tool for the DXer and casual operator. Also has a great reflector of knowledgeable users. Try it...you'll like it!

Doesn't save when you hit enter Time Owned: unknown months.
A new QSO is not saved until the whole log is saved. In other words if you don't do a save (Alt-S) after working that new one & the computer bombs (Windows nevers does that!) you can lose the entry. Yes, it is supposed to notify you that the backup file does not match, however if it has not done its "backup" it probably won't. But it would be better to not have to worry about it!

Excellent program Time Owned: unknown months.
I have been fortunate to have tried many of the logging programs that have been offered and find dx4win to be the best overall. Some of the other programs excell with one or two key features but dx4win is by far, the best logging program, period. And, the assistance when one gets in a jam, either via menu or on-line, is exemplary.
Currently missing is a minor feature that is a real "Back-Up" key, where you can tell the program where to back-up to. The current "Back-Up' is a rather less than an elegant solution.
Go get your free demo copy and give it a test drive. You'll buy it.

No Roses without a Thorn ! Time Owned: unknown months.
With the most beautiful rose, one must watch where he puts his fingers on ! The same is valid with this great logging software, which is not user independent (yet ! ). I just wish K5IDX had come to the Reflector, where a lot of happy and knowledgeable users, along with program authors, could surely help him !
Upgrade price is LOW, compared to the quality of the program, and one only pays for a lot of additional features, not for the bug elimination, which was, unfortunately, not a case with another, "competitive" program.
I just wish each software author listens so much to the users and follows their wishes and suggestions as Paul and Steve do. This is really a first-class, and much more than just a logging program, made by hams, for hams, with a lot of ham-spirit and at a ham-price !

DX4WIN is the # 1 --Yes it is a winner Time Owned: unknown months.
I have to say DX4WIN is the best program in the market. It is an excellent LOG program where you handle a lot of awards very easy, control all must radios etc... With version 4.07 it is dificult to Paul and Steve to improve what is improved ( hihi ) but this two guys are allways wating for suggestions to mantain the #1 ... I'm very proud in use this prog and have to sign my thanks to Paul and Steve. Try it guys and I'm sure you like it. Have fun

Awesome! Time Owned: unknown months.
I've used numerous logging/transceiver control programs over the decades, and find DX4WIN to be the most intuitive, feature packed system I've come across - in fact, I'm still discovering features that impress and amaze me. From the world map that reflects the beam path (and is "zoomable" down to the city the DX station is in), to color coded DX spot listings to reflect mode/band DXCC requirements, to customizable entries, this program does the job in fine fashion. Reports are a click away on DXCC, IOTA and other certificate pursuits. Rig control is a piece of cake. Click on a spot and the IC-765 jumps to the frequency, adjusts for split operation, and is ready to go. Congratulations to the authors who have developed a program with so many capabilities! I find the upgrade pricing to be fair and support/documentation superb!
