I found the unit works as advertised.
The setup was as listed in the manual.
The software install went well hooked right up
with my K2 and went to town. Have done CW,PSK,RTTY with this unit and it has performed as stated

Works like it should!! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I purchased the MFJ-1279T after receiving my amateur license to use with Echolink. I got the T model to use with a Kenwood TR-7730 which has a six pin mic plug with common ground on PTT and Mic audio (like the Ten-Tec 4 pin that the T model is made for and comes with) I replaced the 4 pin plug and jack with six pin jobs and it works great. Looks to me like all 1279's are the same internally but come with different plugs/jacks depending on the model. The PC board is well labeled and with a little thought and a soldering iron can be made to work with any mic and PTT combination. The jumper layout is excellent and though at first it seems complex is really quite simple and allows you to select any of the 8 input pins for any function and any of the 8 output pins for any function. Well done MFJ, I am glad I ignored the bad reviews. Those looking for plug and play without thinking should, in my opinion, find another hobby. Ignore the burnt electronic smell when you open the box, hook it up right and it will work.
