Quiet, Dependable, Clean, and porable if not a bit pricey. Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Honda builds good reliable equipment. They start easily but I did have to warm it up one morning when I had trouble starting it on a 3 degree F morning.

Four features really stand out:
1. It's remarkably quiet.
2. It's really portable.
3. It supplies very clean electrical current.
4. It is pricey if you compare it's cost per watt to other generators.

The econ mode throttles down automatically to decrease noise and fuel use when the load is low.

The output of this generator is 1600 W (13.3 Amps) continuous and 2000 W (16.7 Amps)for short terms. The unit will shut down if overloaded. It will shut down if the oil is too low.

I like this generator. I use it sometimes in my scout troop for HAM stations or outdoor movie / powerpoint presentations.

Very Good Product Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Have had one several years, used to power the frig, freezer, and TV also operated a floor fan during the last bout of Severe Weather here in Central Okla. Ran almost 4 days day and nites, used abt 1 gallon of gas every 10-12 hours or so. Very low noise most people wont know that you have a generator running, also good to keep the thieves away. hi. 73s Pat kx5f

Worth every penny Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I just purchased the EU2000i from a local John Deer Dealer,
He had the best price around even beat Ebay!!
I letter boats for a living and run a 1600 watt hot air gun.
The Honda does a beautiful job, even at full bore the unite is quite.
It is easy to carry down to the boat docks and back.
I have used other unites but nothing even comes close to the Honda!!

The Litlle Brother Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have the little brother in this series of Honda generators which outputs 700 watts. It was originally purchased before I got my ticket and was used to power lights and fans at outdoor craft shows.

At one venue, our booth was getting a lot of attention (it was an overcast day) and the jewelry was sparkling under the halogens. A rival jeweler noted this and made a complaint to the show management about our "obscenely loud" generator.

When the manager arrived to talk with us, I explained that the unit had the lowest sound level for it's size in the world and was very environmentally friendly. She agreed but wanted to hear the unit operating.

At that point, she was told that it was running the whole time and we were standing less then six feet from the unit. It was less noisy than the street traffic!

This litle gem has become my mainstay for portable and emergency operations and is a part of my VHF/UHF rover station.

Awesome! Know what you are buying.... Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Hey all. I have 2, yep TWO of these EU2000i hooked together with a 30 amp. Gen-Tran box with breaker. My primary need is the occasional RV useage, which was the main market for this product. Quiet power with the best small engine - honda power. I can get 30mins of the full 4000watts hooked this way.

They work great for backup in the winter months at the house. Sure, they cost more, and if you need a quanity of power without concern for noise, these are not for you. The contractor grade generator for $800 at the local home store works great, but not for the same use that the Honda's are made for. You'll go death, plus your electronics may suffer. My history is that the $1200 honda powered contractor generator blew up my kids gaming system and a TV while camping. No load increase at the time, just bad power. The Honda's are the cleaniest that I've seen.

Anyway, all good points, but buy for what you need. As for the previous gas problem, keep in mind that although not the same problem you can not close the vent on the cap after the thing has been running for some time. It will flow gas out the drain on the bottom. Well thought out generator, worth every cent if you are buying for the right reason.

Over priced Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have been interested for some time in buying a generator for emergency use. After reading reviews of the Honda EU2000i, and comparing it to other generators, I find the Honda to be waaayy overpriced. For the price of a Honda 2,000-watt generator, I can buy a 7,500-watt generator that uses the very reliable Briggs & Stratton engine, and still have money left over. OK, the Honda is very quiet, but it lacks sorely in the "bang for the buck" department as far as power is concerned, and that is the real reason I'd be buying a generator. Also, during emergencies, Ham Radio is pretty far down the pecking order for me. Keeping my house and pipes from freezing during winter power outages, runing the fridge to save food and having lamps lit at night is what I want, and a wimpy 1000-watt generator won't accomplish those tasks, at least not at the same time.

Very Disappionted Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This is a beautiful and elegant little generator. High quality power in a lightweight compact package that even my wife and kids can handle. Unfortunately, reliability and quality hasn't proven to be very good. After less than 15 minutes of use, the EU2000i started to spew gas out the bottom of the case. As far as Honda service, it's still in the shop exceeding the ECD given to me. Very disappointed that they are fixing this unit rather than replacing it. After this major gas leak, I'm not sure I would trust letting this generator run unattended.

Very Quiet and Efficient Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I purchased the EU2000i for our expedition to the Dry Tortugas last June/July. The National Parks rules indicated that any generator above 55 dm noise was not allowed on the Island. This generator was too quiet, you could not hear it from 20 feet away. Anyway it worked 100% with no issues on noise or RF interferance. As for fuel consumption, we took 15 gal. of gas along, but only used 5 !! now that's efficiency. When Hurricane Jeanne, Frances, Ivan and Charley came to visit, I used the EU2000 to power our Fridg and lights. We also had a 9,000 btu portable Air Cond. and it powered that too (but not with the Fridge at the same time). When you have a LARGE load like the Air Cond., note that you must NOT have the Eff Switch on during start up of the Air Cond. Once the air is on, then you can switch the Generator to efficency Mode. Works nice.... This is a great portable generator that is HIGHLY recommended.

Robust Generator Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have the 1000i version of this generator. Of any equiptment, of any sort, I have ever owned, this is the best. My ham radio buddies recommended it to me. I use it to run a baseball pitching machine - harsh duty. It's been hit hard by baseballs several times and keeps on running! The pitcher's mound where I set it up is hot and very dusty. Generator can take it. My Generac by comparison is hard to start and annoyingly loud.

One caution, be sure to keep an adequate amount of oil in it, otherwise its safety switch will shut it down.

A most satisfied owner.
P.s. I do not work for Honda or own stock in the company - maybe I should!

Outstanding Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I have the EU1000i version of the generator. We ran our club station on field day 2003 with this unit. It ran for the whole contest on two fill-ups. This generator has worked flawlessly for about 40 hours. A great unit
