Great All around 6-meter Antenna Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I recently got back on 6-meters and wanted a low angle antenna with some gain that would be effective when skip conditions appeared. The DP-GH62 assembled easily and I hoisted it onto a short mast on the roof (about 18-20 feet off the ground). I used a portable MFJ Model 249 SWR Analyzer to tune the antenna for about 51 mHz so that I could operate the low end of the SSB/CW band as well as the lower end of the FM repeater band. Adjustments went well with no problems experienced. I have about 75 feet of high quality RG8 foam coax on this antenna, the other end of which is connected to a new Icom 706MkIIg. Although local reports on SSB are less than thrilling due to the fact that most hams use horizontally polarized antennas and the cross-polarization loss is about -20dB, I did work an Okla. City station on Sporatic E and received a 5X9 report running only 30-40 watts. Of course, reports into area FM repeaters (where vertical polarization is the norm) is superb. If you are looking for only one antenna on 6-meters, I recommend the DP-GH62 for your consideration. It's sturdy and looks like it will last many years in the So. Cal. sun.

Sweeeet! Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Killer ant. Tuned for a center freq of 51.5
and use it both for fm simplex/repeater and SSB with acceptable SWR on both.
Added bonus it loads with a tuner on 10m and 17m,
with many DX contacts.
