Excellent Repair Service! Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Paul repaired my Icom IC-751A in one week for a very low 2 hour repair charge. He changed all four of the trimmer capacitors in the PLL/VCO oscillator circuit with new ceramic ones. Outstanding, honest, repair service.

Poor workmanship. Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I sent him a 746Pro with 2 problems, seemed fixed for about a week, After a conversation I sent it back for re-repair. Well with in a few weeks it was as bad as before I sent to him in the first place and he accused me of some "skull drudgery" within the covers. I would not recommend him.

Absolutely Superb! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Paul repaired an ICOM-IC-275H back into mint shape for me. I highly recommend Paul, he is extremely good!! You will not be disappointed! I also sent an IC-1275a to Paul. He fixed a transmit problem and the radio works like new.

Update: 7/25/2020
Sent an ICOM 736 to Paul for alignment and updating. He turned it around in a week. Rig works superbly! Highly recommend Paul!

Fast, thourough, curteous service Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Upon the recommendation of N4YX, I sent my Ft-857 to Mr. Hansen for repair. He checked the unit out, gave me an estimate of what it would take to fix it, and withing a few weeks, let me know that the repair was easier than expected, but did recommend a couple adjustments, which I approved. The total cost for the repair was slightly less than what he quoted. That was 2 years ago, and the radio is chugging along as good, dare I say better, than new!

Great, fast service! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
He repaired and shipped back my IC-746 within a week, and he did so at repair cost that didn't break the bank. Thank you, sir!

Fast, cost effective repair Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
My IC-706MKIIG (early serial number) lost power output on 2M.

Paul had it repaired and out the door within a week of receiving it. Cost was very reasonable, especially compared to the cost of a new rig.

He took the time on the phone to walk me through what he did and explain some details.

Highly recommended!

A+ Communication and RAPID Turnaround Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Paul Hansen is hands-down the most RAPID and THOROUGH engineer performing work on Amateur Equipment today. 3 day turnaround. Other shops are 30 days plus. Do business with Paul. You won't regret it.

Fantastic 706 II G repair Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Paul recently repaired my Icom 706-II-G. I think he had the thing fixed within a day of receiving it and sent it back to me immediately. The repair included an "unobtanium" part. He charged less than I expected and I couldn't be happier with the entire transaction. Additionally, Paul's communications are excellent. He is always prompt to return e-mails and calls.

He Knows His Stuff Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I've used Paul's services 3 times. First was for repair of my Icom 7600 that was hit by lightning. It had several problems and he said it was best to just replace the main board. He did that and aligned some things and the radio works now better than it did when new! I can tell by the selectivity, stability and audio quality I experience with it now. All-in-all it cost me less to have the radio repaired than it would have cost to simply buy a working Icom 7600 on the used market. Now it's like new radio and new ones aren't available anymore.

The second occasion was a repair of an Icom 910H also hit by the same lightning strike. It would not work with CAT/CIV control by my computer. He fixed the radio by replacing a few parts he said but I still couldn't get it to work for me, so he checked it out again for free and said he made CIV work back-to-back with another radio. Finally I gave it to a ham starting out with satellite contacts who did get it to work with his computer.

Most recently I had a problem with sticky buttons on my 7600 and he diagnosed that they could be cleaned. (apparently I had spilled something close to the radio that may have splattered on the radio unseen). Thanks to his free advice I was able to clean the buttons myself and that fixed the problem.

His prices are most reasonable and his work is swift and excellent.

Best ham repair EVER!! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Paul is very thorough in his diagnostic procedures and he will go the "extra mile" to get you back on the air. He was able to find a "no-longer-available" part to get the display on my 756PRO working again. He lives and breathes this stuff, folks! Turn-around time is quick and his communications to help fix problems is excellent! He answers emails and phone calls ASAP all the time! No one else touches my radios!

Paul repaired my "spare" Icom 756PRO, did a great job and returned the rig promptly. He repaired my "main" PRO a few years ago and it is still working FB! He is a MUCH better/faster choice for repair work than Icom repair service. Paul answers his phone calls and emails right away.

Very satisfied with Paul's work. He was able to zone in on the problem over the phone. The rig (Icom 756PRO) was repaired and back home within two weeks. Repair cost was reasonable. Highly recommended!
