Not the best structured antenna Time Owned: unknown months.
I have installed 2 of the 7000's. One at my vacation home on Lake Erie and the other
at my neighbor and friends QTH, Matt, K8HK. The antenna works great above 40
meters, Matt runs qrp on cw and has worked the globe! I run 40 and 10 meters mostly
and the antenna performs well on these bands, but bandwith on 40 is not great. Complaint? The materials are not to grade for an antenna of this structure. It has weak points, and does bend under its own weight. Wind condx on Lake Erie are strong to say the least, and
this antenna has a problem with bending. Eventually, my antenna will fail in this
environment.

Bang for buck? Not much, but if you need to get on HF it is not a bad compromise if
you can keep the antenna low and out of extreme wind condx.
Avoid too much mast from an anchor point and mount of the antenna. No more than 4-5 feet. I tried 10 feet. Next day seeing the "angle to the dangle" I lowered the antenna closer to the house, about 4 feet from the top most anchor point.

Worst antenna ever seen ... Time Owned: unknown months.
Last summer I tried to install this antenna on the roof of our family house - height only abt. 5 meters up. We had to adjust several times cause there was no possibility to get it into resonance.
By doing so, some of the assembly material broke - the main nuts cannot be opened now any more.
From the beginning there was missing an important screw (small one, so they didn´t see with the weight control !). Needless to say that here in Europe you don´t get inch sized screws ....
Today ant is working with tuner on three bands - one of the bands is 80 m - without the extension !! The antenna is resonant on frequencies off the bands - too high frequencies, which means the parts are too short; I can´t do anything.
E-mails and telephon calls to the main distributer were without any answer ..
Next year I´ll check it with my new antenna analyzer. Any further help fairly recommended !!

Same applies to R6OOO. Time Owned: unknown months.
I put the R6000 up last February, worked 184 countries to date. Great product, well built but a pain in the behind to tune when it's final resting place is on the roof 45 feet in the air. I plan to add a review on a competing product soon. In all fairness, the setting is different, one on the roof, other on the ground, but the Cushcraft is at least 1 S unit better on transmit. The other (GAP)is much quieter on receive.

While we're out at.... Time Owned: unknown months.
This is by far the greatest antenna I've owned!! Extremely easy to assemble, great manual instruction, a slim profile and, as for performance? WOW! I can't tell you how many DX pileups I've been in where I get through on the 2nd or 3rd try.
I simply love the R 7000. I'm even thinking about buying another one soon. I live on a small 1/4 acre lot in suburbia and never once had any neighbors mention the antenna or complain. This has been my first vertical so adjusting the SWR by lowering or raising the individual segments was new to me but after a few trys I got it right at the bandwidths I needed it for.. outside the bandwidth I simply use my rig's internal tuner or a separate tuner for very high SWR's well beyond the antenna's bandwidth.

Here in the Carolinas we've had some intense hurricanes lately. The R 7000 didn't wince. It withstood 70+ MPH winds and kept coming back for more.

The bandwidths on 10, 15 and 20 meters are more than adequate---they're commendable!

Did I mention that I love this antenna? ...Just checking.

A Quality Antenna that was very easy to install an Time Owned: unknown months.

I have had the R7000 vertical up for about 1-year, After trying 2 other verticals that required
ground radials and after talking to the folks at Cushcraft at the Dayton Hamvention. I decided
to purchase a new R7000 vertical. The vertical was packed very well and all the parts were
there none were missing. Quality of the aluminum is first rate and some silicon grease is also supplied with a rubber boot to keep the weather from the PL-259 coax connector. The assembly went very smooth, instructions were very good.
I set the antenna up for mainly CW and RTTY, all the SWR readings are excellent by just
following the measurements listed in the instructions. The antenna works very well, now I
could brag about all the DX I have worked but band conditions also have a big factor in that also.
The R7000 vertical setup had not drifted or changed since I have installed it 1 year ago. The
SWR readings for 40 through 10 meters is still the same. I was looking for an antenna that was not to big since I live on a small lot and that would perform reasonably well. The R7000 vertical has met all my expectations and then some it was a good choice for me.
