The perfect choice for serious voice operators Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I've had every type microphone Bob Heil has produced and always get good results. The Goldline Pro however is in a class by itself. The audio quality is absolutely perfect for amateur use and because it is a dynamic mic you don't need a noise gate to kill unwanted background noise. I use my mic with several rigs including an Icom 781, 706 MK2G, Kenwood 850 w/DSP and a JST245. The audio reports are always great. Although I use a small mixer with an internal 3 band EQ with my older radios, it is not necessary to have any external audio devices with the newer rigs which allow you to change tone, shift frequency, etc. This mic is better than great it is truly a benchmark microphone for the amateur radio community.

Great audio Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This microphone sound great connected to my Kenwood TS-850/DSP100 combi with hi-boost on. I receive great complements on the audio, even if my signal is weak.

With my TR-751 in FM I had to turn up the mic. gain a bit, but again most stations I work direct find it's sounding much better that my MC-60A microphone.

I am very pleased with this microphone, and the service from Heilsound I received was first class!

Heil Goldline Pro, #1 Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I have never been happy with the audio on my Yaesu MK 5 as compared to my Icom rigs, The Goldline Pro cured that. My "fussy" 75 meter buddy's thought I had bought a new radio. It is without a doubt,in my opinion the best 125$ mic you can buy and better than the high end big bucks mics. Do yourself a favor, try one, you won't be dissapointed. One last comment, unlike the big three, Yaesu, Icom & Kenwood, the customer service at Heil is "first class" They listen and they help, what a concept!!

Great Response; Terrific Reports Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
If you are looking for great audio reports again and again, look at the proline microphone. Nice flat broad response, no "bumps," and the right price tag. I would suggest using an equalizer with the device to tailer the "right" sound for your voice (I like the W2IHY). Better than the regular goldline, it's the next step to SSB nirvana.

Been running variuos audio gear and microphones for quite some time. It wasn't until I heard Bob Heil on 75m (3.894 Group). I complimented Bob on his outstanding audio, and I asked, what kind of audio gear are you running with your new mic........are you ready for this? He came back, and said " I'm not running any audio gear at all, the mic is plugged directly into the TS-870". Needless to say, you could have knocked me over with a feather. I said, "come on Bob, seriously, what gear are you running with the mic?" Once again, he replied, " absolutely, nothing but the my new Goldline Pro.
I talk to a group of fellas on 18.130 just about every day. We all have been shocked at the quality of the audio that is developed just by using Bob's Goldline Pro straight into a number of different rigs.
The mic is a stone cold mate to the TS-870, (are you reading this Kenwood). The mic works very well plugged directly into the TS-850 with the High Boost= on.
The mic works very well straight into the Icom 756 Pro and Pro II, Mark Five or any other rig that you have control over the transmit bandwidth and audio bass/treble controls.
I run mine with the Ten Tec Jupiter, My setup is,
Goldline Pro into MX 802a mixer then into a Aphex 104 Aural Exciter, then directly into the rig.
By using Bob's new Goldline Pro I have been able to eliminate three other pieces of audio processing equipment.
Please pay attention when running balanced outputs into unbalanced inputs. The Ten Tec Jupiter has an unbalanced mic input.
My thanks go out to Bob Heil, W4NSG, AA2YF, and the man on top of the Bronx WB2CMA.
Buy the Heil Goldline Pro..,you wont be sorry. If you need help in setting your rig up for use with the mic...come on up and visit us on 18.130.

Note: Know anyone that wants to buy a bunch of surplus audio gear and studio mics? :-)

The Goldline Pro, the mic with the natural born sweet spot.

Words don't do it justice! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Bob Heil,an honest friend, and I go back eons. His words spurred me to realize that yes, it beats my RE-20 and any other mic for that matter hands down. This one may erase the conception that there is no one mic for everyone. You will have natural sound and unlike the RE-20, you'll have a sweet spot between the 2 and 3K frequency range and a wonderful low end dropping off at 40K.(40-18,000K total range)Mine is shock-mounted with a wind-screen on an AKG boom extension. It feeds a Symetrix one box EQ system and a Lexicon brightner-no longer needed.Tests show running the Pro into my 870 directly with the high boost on duplicates my EQ'ing system. It just isn't needed. I use it for band condx. The Pro will handle compression smoothly for DX'ing but by boosting the EQ mid range, you'll achieve the same results. The RE-20 is a fine mic but lacks the bright end I searched for so long and you won't get that phony EQ coloration so prevalent these days. Like Joe Walsh says, this isn't your average mic. To me, it's unparalled flexibilty and at this price its performance is solid gold!
