Icom IC-751A Time Owned: unknown months.
Realy nice HF equipment. I have used IC-751A for a couple of years and I think it's one of the best receivers ever (tested in major DX contests and special on "Low bands"). I have received also a lot of compliments on my audio. Now I'm using IC-761 and I think it's another "hot shot" from Icom.

ICOM'S Classic HF Workhorse ! Time Owned: unknown months.
The construction quality is unlike anything made today, Die cast front panel and noise free
QUALITY switches and knobs. Not to mention a receiver that hears as well as any transceiver
Iv'e owned including a 1000MP and a 746. Granted, there is no DSP, however, This basic hot performing Icom takes no back seat. Clearly, If your looking for a $700-$800 BARGAIN in mint
condition used radio, this is the one to shoot for. No wonder why this is still such a sought after
radio and regarded by those at Icom themselves as one of the best the have ever produced.

751A still a hot radio - a lot of bang per buck ! Time Owned: unknown months.
About 4 months ago I picked up IC 751A
on the second hand market- this one has
dual 500 hz filters and the High stability
temp module. I am a CW op and find that this
radio is very impressive. I especially like
the IF shift using the dual 500 hz filters, this
provides variable window with fantastic selectivity. The noise blanker is very poor.
the Audio is great on RX, lots of audio. and the
controls are placed intelligently.
Considering its price on the used market
quite a bargain - IC 751A is a "hot shot".

Quite possible the best deal on the used radio market at this time. This all-mode HF rig really performs! It is very user friendly with straight-forward controls. This rig's General Coverage receiver section is hot! It comes with a built in receive pre-amp, pass band tuning and notch filter. If you can't hear it with this rig's receiver then it's simply not there. On the transmit side, output is about 120 watts ( using an external 50 amp power supply ). In the years I've been using this radio, I have received nothing but compliments on my audio. This rig is my everyday workhorse which I will never part with. So if you're looking for a good solid everyday rig, or just a back-up, you can't go wrong wtih the Icom IC-751A.
