Fan Fix Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Hello, I'm using this power supply with my Icom 706 MKIIG. It seems to do fine powering this rig.

Mine did have the noisy fan which I corrected by placing a 47 ohm resistor on the positive wire to the fan. The fan is at least 50% quieter now.

Using on my Icom 746 Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I have found no problems with the power supply. NO hash or spurs - very clean. I installed a 47 ohm resistor to the fan and it is quieter. Voltage to the fan is about 11.5 volts. The install took 5 minutes. You wont go wrong picking up one of the power supplies if you can find one. No problem using on my Icom 746.

It is small light handles the load, a good choice. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Tested and compared to My Astron 35M:
The fan is constant but not too loud, as My TS2000 fan runs intermittantly. I hear no hash.
Under load regulation is great. I got 13.88V on
receive, and 13.80V Transmitting at 100 Watts
on a TS-450. Its light weight and small size
is perfect for Portable Operation. At $60. the
Price Is Right.

Noisy fan, but otherwise OK Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I don't seem to have the hash that others complain about, either on 10m or 40m, and I've been operating a lot of 40m lately. Having said that, the fan is WAY NOISY. Worse, it runs all the time, not just when the power supply gets warm. It is just plain annoying. Other than that, the power supply works. It's lightweight and small.

Honestly, I think I am going to sell the silly thing. I've had it a month so I doubt they will take it back. If they will, though, I'll happily return it.

I really can't recommend this one. I'll stick with Samlex next time.

Small size/weight! No hash or fan noise! Superb price! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Purchased my power supply 1 May 03. Based the purchase on a lot of the feedback written here. I informed the store of the different feedbacks observed and if I had any of the problems noted I would be bringing it back. As it turned out it was the last one they had (display model). The salesman offered it to me with a double length warranty. I brought it home, hooked it to my digital volt meter, turned it on, and had a rock solid 13.85 VDC. Next came the load test. With my Kenwood TS-450SAT in receive my voltage dropped to 13.84 VDC--acceptable. Next came the transmit test. I brought the output up to 50 watts and saw the voltage drop to 13.72 VDC--still acceptable I think. I increased the power output to 100 watts and the voltage dropped to 13.66 vdc. The voltage drop totalled only 0.18 VDC from receive to full power transmit which equates to 1.3%--a very acceptable level. I do not have any hash or fan noise. The store is getting another power supply from another store and is calling me when it comes in. I will also get it at the sale price of $59.97, which was supposed to end 27 April. Thanks for all the comments here. It really helped me with my decision and also to give the store a heads-up as to what my expectations were concerning their product.

Hash on 10 meters Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Hash all the way through the 10 meter band, and annoyingly loud fan. Too bad because it's doing its job otherwise. Going to return it tomorrow since I don't feel like trying to fix a brand new piece of what should be straightforward equipment.

Works Great and is small Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
NO HASH HERE! Works great. Hooked it up to my Yaesu FT-100 and my FT-817 and it will operate both at the same time. With my old 20amp power supply my Yaesu had to be set at 85 watts with both radios hooked up. I can hear the fan, but my computer and radio fans are much louder. I have the power supply sitting on the floor. I got it for $59.97 unboxed (was the display model). To tell you the truth my old powersupply hum bothered me more than the fan on this one does.

HASH! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Picked one up to power up an ICOM 737A - Sends out HASH all the way up through the 40 meter band. HASH is strange too, it is in about 20 Khz wide klumps and "travels" up and down the band. Bringing it back today to get my money back. Guess nothing beats an old full wave bridge and some large caps!

Nice for the money, Hash easily fixable Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Mine did have the HF hash but was easily fixable. The internal heat sink for was not properly isolated from the chassis, it appears that there were some burrs and metal chips on the bottom of the aluminum mounting plate poking through the "rubber" isolator when the mounting screw was tightened down. Reads an open circuit now, was as low as a few ohms and would change if the bottom of the case was flexed. That thin rubber mat not only provides electrical isolation but it likely also has thermal properties that allow the heat to pass from the heatsink to the case. So if you replace it be sure to use something appropiate.

I think I'll keep it now that the hash problem is solved.
