HATEFUL LADY! SHE ALL BUT CALLED ME A LIAR Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I purchased a BP-114 from batteries america. The battery was improperly made and would not lock inside the radio. The battery just fell out of the radio.I looked and discovered that the pieces on top were not made correctly.I want people to know that if you buy from them beaware of a cheap product. The batteries also moved around inside of the pack. The lady that answered the phone was insulting and didnt want to hear about my problem with their product. She said that the had made thousands of battery packs and it was a problem with my radio. She said that all the packs were tested in there radios. She would cut me off while I tryed to talk and finally hung up. I got a refund, however im insulted with this ladies conduct and that was my last purchase.I suggest Maha battery packs they are as good as the one that came with my radio. If Maha made a BP-114 I would purchase it.I own several from Maha and they are the best hands down.

BP197H for Icom Time Owned: more than 12 months.
My experience with the BP197H was totally different with my Icom T81A. The T81 is a great HT, but has terrible battery life. I bought the BP197H battery case-the 6 cell one-from Batteries America, and put 1800 mah cells in it. Finally a battery which would last a few days. The woman on the phone was helpful, but kind of ignorant of some of there products. She insisted that you could not charge nimh cells in this case, but you can. You just cannot use the charger in the radio. I used a C777 and it worked just fine. The battery case worked fine also, no problems whatsoever. Would recommend this product to anyone who has a T81 or T8 HT. Just think that the salespeople should know a little more about their products. They seem to have great prices on replacement battery packs for most HTs.

The only choice for me Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I guess I'm going to preface this by saying that I didn't know that we could write up reviews on this. Thank you eham.net!

Over several months, I have purchased 5 batteries through Batteries America (2 for VX-150, 2 for VX-1R and 1 for VX-7R). Each and every time I have received an excellent product. In fact, the batteries for the VX-150 beat anything that Yaesu has for that radio.

I live in Wisconsin, so I don't like the fact that I had to pay taxes in front of my order, but there is nothing the company can do about it.

I have and will recommend Batteries America.

Take care and 73 de Dean KB7QDI

BP-197h For icom Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I bought this "fit your own" AA pack for my Icom T81A.
The spring steel is crap as it bends away from the cells, the plastic keepers that hold the metal connections protrude so far as to push the batteries away from the contacts.

You have to squeeze the battery pack to make it work!!

The battery pack hinge catch broke off after about 7 uses.

The metal negative contacts are made in such away that they catch on the batteries when you try to remove them and nearly rip the contacts off.

This is one of the worst engineered products that i have ever encountered.

What a piece of crap.

Never ever again will i buy from this shameful to be called an American company.

Perfect fit for FT-530 and FT-416 Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Hi Everyone...Just received my 7.2-volt 1100-mAh and 1650-mAh Yaesu packs. I've yet to see how these batteries perform (they are charging), but I was most impressed when I tried installing the packs on my FT-530 and FT-416 HTs (both accept same kinds of batteries). Perfect fit. No need to muscle them or no need to worry about them being loose.

I have owned some MAHA and W&W Assoc. packs, and have had to file them or cut away parts of the pack with an exacto knife in order for them to slide on easier -- muscling a pack with plastic lips worries me. Cutting/filing to make them fit shouldn't be my job after I've paid for packs supposedly made to fit my radio.

No need to worry with these babies from Batteries America! Will post another review once I can evaluate their actual performance.

slow service Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I ordered a battery pack for my Icom IC-W32A HT. The battery does work fine, but took almost three weeks to get!!! To me, this is unacceptable, especially when I don't live that far from them!

Excellent service Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I ordered a pair of replacement batteries for my HTX-202 from them. When they came in, I couldn't get them to charge. I called the company, spoke with the "main man" and explained the problem. He immediately sent me new sets that work perfectly and wrote it off. That's right, no charge to me!! Who else does that with $50 battery packs just to keep customers happy? They have earned by business from now on!

Problem fixed fast! Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I'm using their packs in a Yaesu/Vertex VX-150, and bought several of their 2000mAh "AA" size batteries for use in a digital camera. No problems whatsoever with these. I got their "UDQ-9000" (re-labeled MAHA) charger/conditioner, and the first one died after 3 or 4 charges. Called and got a replacement right away, and it has been going strong for the past year.

Nice folks to deal with.
