Very difficult project Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I know several ARDFers who have successfully built this design, and I know it can be made to work, but I really have to think there are better options out there for 80 meter ARDF receivers.

The circuit board for this project is available from FAR Circuits, but it has several problems with layout. Parts simply do not fit in many cases, and there are several mandatory mods that have to be done or the receiver will not work. Simply acquiring parts for the receiver is a major problem. Items on the revised parts list can only be collected from no fewer than seven or eight different electronics parts vendors and a couple of hardware stores, and some of the components are now obsolete and completely unavailable! You could spend easily $50 on shipping from mail order parts houses before you even have all the part to build the receiver.

Trying to find replacement parts for the obsolete items on the parts list, I ran out of time before the 2000 USA ARDF Championship, and had to find another alternative for 80 meters. My experience with building the Albuqerque FoxFinder-80 was so bad that I've never gone back to finish it.
