Worth every penny Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Easy to build - worked perfectly first time. Instructions clear, online support/community great Config software intuitive and flexible. I installed my TT-2 into a DeLorme Tripmate housing, after modifying the Tripmate. The whole package rides on my '81 GS-1000G motorcylce and 'talks' through an HTX-202. Excellent results. 202 is a bit under-powered for fringe areas - but the whole system works great. Not having a display on a motorcycle is a real positive - you don't need the distraction with every soccer mom and cager out there trying to kill you. If you do need a display, look at a PDA or HamHUD as an APRS solution.

I'm talking 'bout a TinyTrak-2. The upgrade to the 3 would be a simple chip swap - but not something I anticipate doing.

I have two TinyTrak2 ... Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I dunno. Both of mine worked fine, came up immediately upon completion. Very handy for mini tracking devices, and a good value. Saves $100+ not to mention a LOT of space and battery consumption, when you just have a device you want to track. It does just what I needed at the right price. Works great with an old IC-2AT or similar.

The firmware feature difference between the Model 2 and 3 isn't worth it to upgrade for my applications; other than the firmware, the hardware is pretty much similar between the models.
